nice to see many other watches other than Panerai now! Phew!

Btw got some question to ask. I will going on holiday trip this October. I am wondering would it be better to buy a watch at the airport before departing? Will the store give me some discount + less 7% GST? Or the price is fixed at less 7% GST?

any reply will be appreciated! Thanks!

Does anyone know if RSC sells just the end links for their watches (for a TT 36mm datejust) or other shops/sources that do?

TIA!

If you are going to Europe or Hk for holiday, can buy overseas as well, no GST and most eu can get VAT refund.

ROC is steel caseback. Movement is an F. Piguet chrono that's also used in VC. Mine is 41 mm, from 2013. I think retail now is around $25k from AD? Boutique less discount but have 5 yrs warranty.

Clear caseback is the Royal Oak. :)

Hi all, I am currently considering going overseas to purchase GMT2. Would it be cheaper in London or Paris or locally? Thanks for the help!

Rolex vs omega movements..=:p

Who Makes a Better Movement - Rolex or Omega?

"If the Co-Axial escapement truly offered an engineering advantage over traditional escapements, then so many watch manufacturers before Omega would not have passed on it. In short, I think Omega should have passed on it too."

"In the meantime, snap up all the Omega 1120 caliber equipped Omega watches you can - it's the best movement Omega has ever produced in my honest opinion."

I feel the article is bias and not very accurate. Why did he not explain the all in house movement with the co axial which is the 8500 (built around the escapement) and above but rather he is just focusing only on the eta implemented co axial mvt? 1120 is not even omega in house movement in the first place why collect a modified ETA pmovement ?

Hight speed not better accuracy unless they share exactly the same design which in the first place the escapement is already different !

The author is too quick to judge the co axial IMO. All new changes are not welcome usually because people tends to prefer something proven and tested but without innovation we won't be standing where we are now! I like how omega being daring to be the one who try to change, success or not is secondary.

Interesting link on more insights on the article http://forums.watchuseek.com/f20/issues-co-ax-calibre-8500-a-490553.html

edit: Reached home and read through the link he provided regarding beat rate.

The author also quote out of context from the article if you read up the entire article.

"No, beat rate is not the only factor affecting potential for outstanding performance. But given everything equal, the properly designed fast-beat watch does have a leg up on its slower cousin."

There are many more attribute to accuracy and escapement is one of them.

"The OMEGA Co-Axial escapement’s clockwise impulse is given directly to the pallet on the balance roller by the teeth of the escapement wheel. As a result, the Co-Axial escapement benefits from greater mechanical efficiency which ensures more stable precision."

first... Bambino.
then... Seiko diver with customization
now is PAM

Next season... hmmmmm.... IWC pilot? or SevenFriday?

usually its always a watch which allows customization.
