it's ok if you're lebron, or jay-z, i suppose. :p

or the boss of AP. haha!
Nah, it's inelegant, indiscreet, brash and loud. The antithesis of the spirit of black tie dress.

The focus of a black tie event should be the ladies. The gents should take a back seat in terms of attention grabbing with clothes. Black tie is designed so that the men don't stand out but at the same time, look as good as possible with the high contrast, perfectly tailored suit.

In fact, it is perfectly fine for a man to be watch-less during a black tie event. It just means that he has the luxury of time to be dancing the night away and enjoying himself, as opposed to someone who has to wear a watch because he is tied to a schedule and needs to check time on a constant basis.

If a man wishes to distinguish himself wearing black tie, it should be done with small details, like pocket squares, the shape of his lapel, the sleekness of the last of his shoes (or better yet, wearing velvet slippers), using grosgrain instead of satin, his haircut and grooming...etc.

But not with a big thick watch that sticks out under his cuffs.

mini project of my own, went to get the watch and the strap after googling where to get. Something to play with, feels good and looks good, although not as elite as many of the kors kors here!
