I suspect the smell is on the wrist rather than the bracelet. Wash your wrist n the watch (caseback n bracelet) more often n thorough if its bothering u. No other way i spose.

Actually it doesn't make sense to have power reserve longer than 3 days.

If e watch has no difficult complication, setting time and date is a breeze.

If e watch has uber complications like the a.lange soehne grand complication watch, then I believe it's much better to own a premium watch winder to avoid setting everything every time we need to wear e watch.

plenty people out there like to swap to their other weekend fun watches, only to realise on monday morning that their main work watch with typical PR of 38-42hr stopped on sunday

72hr or 3 day PR is the practical optimum for it to idle through the weekend without needing a winder and eliminating the need to fk with the date and time on a groggy monday morning.
yet with reasonable torque to maintain its accuracy.


7-day PR or more are overkill unless they only come out to play on the weekends or are complex grand complications which are a PITA to reset.
they are done just because they can be done as that is how it goes in horology, where the practical solution is not the only solution to time-telling

I like the citizen one! The other two don't really appeal much to me. So I guess watches similar in style to the citizen one would appeal to my liking. I prefer minimalistic designs and leather straps instead of the metal ones. Where did you get the citizen watch and for how much?

mustafa used to carry that exact retro Ana-Digi Temp, avaliable in SS or gold-plated.

i only recall seeing the chunkier modern Ana-Digi Temps.

don't remember seeing this exact retro piece for some time already although there are multiple watch counters across the multiple mustafa 'complexes' which you can search for

Both isn't it ... less parts longer power reserve that can be mass produced. Even I can engineer one of a kind 1,000 hour power reserve watch with in house movement that takes special servicing. But a bullet proof mass produced movement - that's a real leap forwards.

for someone who can engineer an watch thats your view.
cars can be mass produced without humans, watch mabye just lagging
behind.

from another POV most people find mechanicals leh chey and therefore don't want to own too many pieces. if not they wear one for a long time so that the auto movement requires them to use it at least once in two days i.e. two a week. Say if everyone owned an auto 8 -day movement, its forseaable that folks could up the rotation schedule to 4-5 different watches a week. Aside from price increases, giving people to own more mechanicals is the other way to grow the business.

watch winder is invented awhile back.
selling more watches is a way to grow biz, may it be mech or quartz etc

All I can say is that cost to quality - Chinese will be there in no time. Japanese are biggest movement makers today but the watch business has been struggling since 2010. Its evident that Chinese movements are growing rapidly. Lines are also blurring because a lot of Chinese companies are buying over Swiss Watch companies. But don't underestimate the Chinese - they have a thriving aerospace industry, the Swiss don't. Japs have paved the way, Chinese will follow in tow.

Russia also have a thriving aerospace industry but they watch industry not too much. Same goes with USA too, don't see a relation here.
Japs really only citizen.
China no doubt is growing but still in fashion watches.
Chinese own swiss watch company - its just ownership does not mean Chinese the run the show. if U know biz they are on the board to make money. much like Ball.

They have to do something...Swatch the watch brand is dying... just do a quick corridor check.

Swatch the group derives most profits from ETA movement sales, so to cut external supply is a risky decision, especially since the Luxury Business is 100% correlated to the state of the global economy. Recent years have been fueled by growth of affluent in China disproportionately.

from what I read iirc its from watches amd movement parts. They still sell hairspring etc.

iirc china sales has gone down over the lasy 2yrs. thats is kinda past thing.
not to say the very rich chinese not buying crazy expensive watches.

lifestyle affects pwr res. 3 day on paper is good but then not uncommon to read on forums watch not lasting that long. with ppl growing fat sitting on the sofa eating pizza and drinking beer watching TV. need a watch to auto wind with ppl just pushing the remote. LOL

This is very true, from personal experience. My desk job doesn't charge up my watches, as they should even if I wear them for a week. Wear them one weekend when I'm out shopping for furniture, say, and they get their full power reserve or more.
