Hello a question for you watch gurus.

Is there any differences in price for the grand seiko here and in Japan?

Really into their spring drive movement after I saw one of them recently.

Wow it's been almost a year since I posted this pic.

Couldnt decide on which one back then. Was checking out the YG GMT but SA asked if I want a 5712 since price point not too far away. The brand ***** in me went for the patek.

Sold off both the daytona and daydate. Was getting bored of the daytona (no date function and quite useless chronograph function) while the missus hated the daydate. But I think I may still get a daydate later on.

Been fun on this thread. Made lots of frens. Had lotsa hotdogs. Seen lotsa hair. Tickled lotsa hands. Thanks for all the fun ya ;)

Dunno what to buy next. Or rather, what I can afford to buy next.

WAXING HAND NOW!!! You have seen enough hair!

When I saw your pic, remind me of this

Heard that it's cheaper to get in japan.. Yen is weakening now too. Spring drive is nice!

seiko does a very nice blue sunburst dial with the sarb045, a very deep colour that changes to black in the shade but bright blue under light.

this is clearly better than their cheaper 4RXX presage, and I'm not sure if i've seen any swiss watches done as well:

the case design is unique, less curves more hard lines. hard to capture a nice pic so borrowed one from yeoman's blog:

the details go down to the micro-level: the logo has very clean, samurai-blade sharp edges

sapphire backcase displays the 6r15 movement - it IS an in-house movement :)

not the finest cosmetic etchings close up, but very clean edges
