My sis bought two rolex from local grey. Turns out to be AD pieces.

All grey are AD pieces, unlike clothes we don't find them failing QC at factory this let go cheap

Hi watch collectors,

I am looking to purchase a pair of watches which can be use as wedding gift, something that can hold sentiment value as it age. But the budget not very high, only around 6k for a pair.

Need not be exactly the same model, similar looking will do. Have to be automatic, prefer not too sporty kind, but chronograph is fine.

Have been looking at Longines models but was thinking what other options are there. Really new to luxury watch so hopefully can get more ideas on what is out there.

A qn to all watch collectors, is it normal for luxury watches to have minor defects? Do u guys just ignore it because it's just minor defects that can only be viewed under light or a close stare.

Dono if i m suay or wad but most of my watches kana.

MY IWC Got a dial scratch n dirt , sent for service , end up with more problems

MY TUDOR Black bay got dirt in dial

Today i realized my omega po rotor blade got a speck of dirt when i view through the see through case back under light.

Is it normal for watches to have these kind of defects?

When I purchased them i do pay a close attention to such stuff but it seems ok until i go back and do a close inspection under strong light or something .

Should I send my omega for servicing since it's only the rotor blade behind n not the dial? Don't want end up solve this problem but end up with many other problems .

if the dirt is get trap in the gears vs dirt on dial/hands... hmmm whats a bigger issue? visual vs mechanical..

wow the black bay are quite nice. wasnt considering something with bezel, but these look quite good. too bad the US retail price already exceed my budget -.-

Lol it wont be a surprise. Actually it will be more of a present from my parents, because I feel it's better to receive a memento than ang bao.

Totally agree!
Both are probably classics in the making. Really very nice. Would have gotten the black bay if not for its size - too small on me.

AD shld be about 8k for both. Very good suggestion!

U do have a pt there..

not too sure if its a dirt or something else cause it "sticks" to the rotor blade n its so small which is why I didn't notice it until about after a yr of owning it..sometimes it's better not to be too OCD and go observe yr watches under strong light or magnifying glass

My concern is sending for service n it end up with more issues.. Heard of many stories with Swatch service centre

Talking about some issues in watches. My pam has a small little dust on the min hand. It's sticking out and only can be seen during close up. Still haven't send back to pam boutique. Haha. I scare they screw it up. Probably send back before the warranty end for servicing and highlight the dust part.

@skeleton: Thanks! Excellent service from him! He helped me to punch the buckling holes on the spot.. Love the snug fit. In fact, this strap was just collected earlier on in the evening.. haha!

Seems like this python hide is catching on!

Is yours polished or unpolished? If it is unpolished, the scales will curl up over time so that you have more a texture.

My wife's python strap is starting to do that after a year of wearing it and she loves it!
