Hahaha grip is damn bad. I tried without the tape, I can deadlift 100 with the bar almost slipping off my palms. With the tape. I can do easy 8 reps with it. Haha maybe the grip with the tape gives confidence, knowing the bar won't slip off my fingers.

In my opinion , buying watches is a very personal thing. Buy what you like. "Better" is subjective - from workmanship, price, construction, etc. It's your money, don't let anyone show you how to spend it.

All the watches you quoted are great. I'd get them all :)

I'd say do what works for you.

I think it's maybe a psychological thing. It's not like you're using straps where your grip is enhanced. You are still actually physically gripping the bar.

Just don't start using straps, haha. I'm one of those who likes the concept of being able to lift unassisted. I mean if you're in a position of hanging from a ledge for your life, there won't be lifting straps to help with your grip...

Planet Ocean for me. The titanium one so darn light. But stainless steel will feel the weight. Maybe people will like the weight of their watches.

IMHO, get the PO if you're on a tight budget. I own both the SubC and PO 8500 myself, and the PO stands out in all departments except for brand prestige and bracelet comfort. Below a lume shot to poison you ...

Oh almost forgot to add that the SubC's bezel is also more gorgeous and rachets with a nice, crispy "tick tick tick". That is not to say the PO's bezel is way inferior, but rather, to emphasise that if the SubC's bezel were to be a perfect 10, the PO's bezel will score about 8 comparatively.

BUT, you can hardly go wrong with either choice. I chose to get both 'cause I find it a torture to choose between the two!

Caveat here is that you should NEVER get an Omega to scratch your "Rolex Itch" 'cause you'll eventually offload the Omega, resulting in a significant loss.
