my wife has a very similar rolex with diamond markers - only thing is that the fluted bezel was changed for a diamond bezel as well...

Best way is to go to the authorised service centre to verify. But you may have to pay for it. But given the amount you are going to invest in the watch, it would be worth it for peace of mind.

Rolex is simple. Pay $107 and rolex service centre will verify for u.

I think Iwc got no such service but i maybe wrong. U can either try (and u need to trust) a 2nd hand shop seller who offers authentication of iwc or u bring watch to iwc service centre for servicing and hope they dont inform u its not genuine.

Leave to others to describe on the dealing + authentication process if u buy grey or preowned.

Umm only way is to bring to service centre for authentication. Meet the buyer to deal at the brand service centre. Otherwise better not to deal at all. Unless it is from a reputable used watch shop etc.

No box nevermind but no papers is a risk. So hopefully u can get a good price.

1 tedious way will be to print out pictures of the exact watch. Top, side, movement pics so that u can compare with e one u are buying. Even an exact replica will not be able to replicate exact material for some movement parts and etc.

Rolex and IWC has many different types of watches and different versions. So each type of watch is made differently, and have different security features.
Are there a few designs you are looking at?

This will definitely be a BIG, BIG help in us giving you some clues about how to ID fakes and genuine.

Otherwise, its just as good as saying: "Guys, I wanna buy a Preowned LV bag. How do I spot a fake?" But there are 1001 types of LV bags. Well... you get what I mean =)
