Pepsi 16710 prices have been creeping up worldwide in anticipation of this launch, i think you can get for around $6k to $7k in SG

I've seen 16700 pepsi bezel asking for almost same price as 16710 non-pepsi bezel in recent times.. quite ridiculous.. all the premium just for the bezel.. IMHO. Unless it's nicely aged and faded along with the watch.

Can buy a non-pepsi bezel GMT w/o the price premium and bring to RSC to change to pepsi bezel? Unless RSC no longer provides this option..

Edit: The 16700 is only available in pepsi and i guess fairly small quantity available in pre-owned market compared to 16710 since they were both available in the market at the same time, most people would have opted for the more advance movement 16710 between the 2.

yeah its a colour premium, but lots of watches are valued on the rarity of colour on dials hands etc. and its very likely you can't get another rolex pepsi in steel in the immediate future. but i have to say that the pepsi ceramic bezel with a dark tinge is just yummy!

one of the key difference that people prefer the 16710 is the 3185 movement that changes the way the hour hand behaves (for simpler adjustment across time zone), and the standard way it is done today. hence the 16710+3186 movement or old design new movement is fetching even higher premiums.

yes you can exchange bezel at rolex service centre - but its part exchange i.e. they keep your old one. for the ease of changing the bezel insert, its much better to have both. (black bezel almost like a submariner from afar; to most it will look like you have two rolexes not one :) )

p.s.: i think the 16700 also comes in black too

Yeah, RSC v one kind. They actually have no right to keep the bezel since its the owners property. Unless they dont charge for the bezel n just the service fee.

Anyway my point is u can buy a gmt master say black bezel n change to pepsi bezel at rsc and the total cost is less than buying pepsi gmt pre-owned.

3186 + stick dial is the typical rolex hype for transition models. Personally dont see the worth though.

haha - except that they have the right to charge you exorbitant prices for new parts and service without the exchange!

there are rumours that omega is going to follow rolex and be stricter with their parts availability, in hope to be able to increase prices without suffering higher depreciation rates.

its hype until you see the real monies being exchanged e.g. the "single red" and "double red" subs... if you ever wanted to get back or even profit from your watches, Rolex is a pretty good bet.

In Singapore, does Tudor suffer from similar depreciation like Omega..?

Looking at how much used Tudor's go for i think they depreciate as much as Omegas alright.

After browsing through sales forums, the only watches that seem to hold value well are Rolex, Panerai and some Seiko JDM as well as micro brands. Not sure about the high end brands like AP, PP, VC etc, don't think i ever want to spend that much $$ on a watch.

Speaking of Rolex watches, is it better to buy from ADs in Singapore like Hour Glass and Cortina, going to a grey dealer or going to those second hand shops?

Hey guys, just curious, I was told by a friend that nearly all Patek pieces appreciate in value after 5 years. I doubt so and would like an opinion. Thank you.

I'd think any watch which is well sought after and is produced in limited quantities will appreciate (in terms of $$).

However a simple PP Calatrava which is quite common won't. Simply because the 2nd hand market demand for such premium Swiss brands is very small. However if it was the Lange grand complication watch (5pcs worldwide), I'd bet even after including inflation, the watch will still be worth more than what it is today. Just look at those limited edition Lange, PP, Rolex which sells in the range of million UsD at auction sites.

Most of us will not have the money nor the chance to purchase it in the first place.

Thought they don't change the color bezel as it is not the original color?
