The parts are probably worn out and it will cost a lot to replace with original rolex parts? If not, might be a good idea to service it before parts are no more obtainable....poly watch the crystal and put it in a safe

There's rose gold, white gold and yellow gold version. I think it retails for 13k UsD. Since it's a popular LE it's definitely difficult to get 1 outside japan.

Yeap, I managed to touch e snowflake before I made e decision to go gray. I too didn't want to take e leap of faith without knowing what I'm buying

oh just googled the versions...ya they are LE versions announced in the latter half of 2013. i bought mine in early 2013

luckily for me i happened to be in tokyo and managed to molest the watch and decided to pull the trigger

Not easy to find in Germany and it's a big country. U have to tell him location of AD. U may save like 10% or so.
Selection maybe limited too.

When I order mine it took 3 mths to ship to me.

really depends on usage. in any case parts are available even for the 5513. just have to remember to tell the service centre not to change the dial and hands.

They are all JDM only. Each watch line production is low few hundreds a yr.

Panerai Watch Making Session

Attended my first watch making class with Panerai last night, where I got a chance to take apart and reassemble the P9000 movement. Have been looking forward to this all week to get an idea of the amount of effort and skills required to make/service a mechanical watch.

The parts are so small! Made me wonder how they manufacture all these small little parts so precisely.


Finally got the movement assembled with some help from Panerai's very own in house watch maker:

Before we left, we got to take home a little goodie bag:







Overall my wife and I really enjoyed the session and we have a newfound appreciation of the amount of effort and skills it takes to make a mechanical watch. And to not scratch the components while assembling it, that takes a pair of very steady and careful hands! Most of the parts are so small and delicate! Not to mention the amount of concentration and patience it took to gently place the gears within the jewels and at the same time steady your hands and not apply too much pressure. There were a few times when I squeezed the tweezers too hard and the part flew off the tweezers, luckily we managed to find the part back lol.

Looking at the level of finishing and craftsmanship on the components, you can definitely tell the amount of time and effort the watch maker put into the watch, giving the mechanical watch its soul. I guess this is why we love and pay so much for our watches

dunno if the upsized 38mm has increased L2L distance.

although the original is 35mm which sounds pretty small, it has really long L2L. go look for wrist shots online from 6 to even up to 7.5 inch wrists

that gold indices + blue hands combo is one of the more popular pieces, very tastefully done.

aesthetics wise for 35 vs 38 is never just a simple scale up, stare long enough and see if you like 38's extra spaciousness.
most obvious difference would be the subdial + 7 & 5 o'clock configuration

The L2L dist is up, how much up maybe best to email nomos for data. the lugs on nomos isn't the regular style. they do wear big which is why some Ang Mo even perfer the 35mm

High chance might got down to gnomon this sat but really not sure. Later 42mm too big, 36mm too small
