did you get any cert?
I saw someone posting in fb in panerai group with the cert (with your name on it as well) few weeks back...
Not yet, though they did mention that they will send us a cert with our name on it through post.

i don mind them too. but since i already hv 4 seiko watches, feel like getting other gd brands. n i have no swiss watch...steinhart seems like an affordable option.

Can also consider Squale.

Bottom half disassembled:

Time to put it back altogether again:

The parts are so small! Made me wonder how they manufacture all these small little parts so precisely.

Finally got the movement assembled with some help from Panerai's very own in house watch maker:

Wow interesting, any comment on the overall finishing and decoration of the P 9000?

its the lug to lug length that you need to take notice of:

same for our wrists - we all have different shaped wrists, some have flatter wrists that takes bigger watch better.

Understand that the diagram describing the various "vital stats" of a watch.. but...

my eyes popped for a second there.. Is that even an actual watch (Rolex Perpetual Moonphase?!?) ?

Lol..

Edit: holy cow. It is!

hmm.. this is my first time taking apart a mechanical watch so not sure what to look out for and nothing else to compare with... But overall I think the finishing is pretty good. From what I can see, not much blemishes on the components (other than the scratch marks that previous trainees have inflicted :p)

Decoration-wise, not much, no intricate engravings also.

I would presume watches like PP and ALS have even better finishing and decoration given what I have seen in pictures so far. Would definitely love to take apart one and have a peek inside :D

you like to try watches - that's good. learn faster than just browsing the web. once you get enough feel you will be confident about ordering online. gnomon is a great suggestion, try red army and du tempus as well:

German watches, tactical watches, watch accessories - Gnomonwatches.com
- squale, laco, steinhart etc
Contact Us - junkers, vostok, schuamberg, zepellin etc.
https://www.facebook.com/dutempuspteltd - junghans, u-boat, perrelet etc.

the used-watch market is also a great place to check out microbrands not represented here. usually as used watches, but sometimes as new parallel imports with warranty.

far east plaza and bencoolen shopping mall has 3-4 shops each with pretty good fare, my half day skiving routine :)
