Again I must say that Apple "watch" isn't a watch. It's wearable tech that happens to have a clock function. It was never designed to be a time piece and that is not it's main purpose. And nope the luxury watch companies will laugh at the Apple Watch..people that are crazy enough to spend thousands and even hundreds of thousands on a mechanical time piece usually are not early tech adopters. Perhaps the fashion watch companies or low end watch companies will be affected? But hey even Swatch doesn't think it will kill their Swatch line of watches...in fact if any of the Swiss watch companies can make a good smart watch, it's Swatch. Fact is I feel that the Apple Watch / smart watch is a non product. Serves no real purpose since it needs to pair and work with a phone. It doesn't serve as jewellery or status symbols either because they are just too cheap and do not have the history or brand power...

Well the day the likes of Lange or PP or some other high end watch maker announces they will be launching a smart watch then I will believe the time of traditional horology is over..

Wearable tech or watch, the Apple watch will have their fan base. We'll still love our mechanical watch and they (I'm actually one of them too) will love their wrist computer.

I'm sure both parties can coexist peacefully.

Here's my watch for today.

the watch keeps losing minutes sometimes >15mins. sent to stowa, but they said its due to me mishandling the watch (wtf?!). thinking of local alternative to repair my watch.
Oh u posted on WUS also. I think it's an ETA movement right? How much they charge you? Try emailing Jorg to explain your case, maybe can give u a discount at least? Read that he is great at CS. Many places in sg can repair but may not be that cheap also.

Sometimes it appears on eBay, watchuseek or even SWX.
But as it is 30-40 years vintage, best if you can inspect it in person

Did spot two Mkii at bencoolen but condition is crap and from close inspection, the shop did not even bother to clean or service. The uncle admitted that as long as it's working they don't service or clean/oil it...just straight away sell.

yea tried explaining already; the cost is around 170 euros; pissed off not because of the cost, but the warranty :s22: cannot tahan the mike moderator but can't be bothered to start an argument there haha!

anyway they agreed to ship back free if I don't want to proceed with the repair; undecided yet. also actually wanted to get a nomos and stowa chrono; now a bit worried liao; no local service centre, anything we can only suck thumb

I dont see why a local service centre would help resolve such issue.
no warranty cover mishandling if they see it is esp after 1 yr even thru local service centre.

what to be piss with the warranty? even if u buy a Rolex and have local service centre if they see it.. they still make U pay. which warranty out there cover such damages. so whats the WTF?

its your words to say U didn't do it thus a manufacturing defect or say shipping is the cause.. if so.. that would have occur within 1st week of wear.
fact is they see parts and its that condition and U have no video evidence of it how to argue.

i much prefer this type of traders than guys who add value to the watch by modding the watch.

there's a price point to every watch in every condition, if it suits the buyer. some pay premium for the right aged look/patina.

just take your time to find something that fits.

omega did a good job with the Mk II reissue, keeping it very close to the original. hard to tell each other apart from afar.

this is mine:

losing up to 15mins is alot! I think besides putting the case the Stowa.

It might be a case, whereby the switch on the balance wheel was set wrongly. How about going to a repair shop to check the setting of the screw/switch on the Balance wheel?

I remember there should be this screw/switch on the balance wheel, which allows you to adjust the timekeeping frequency to be faster or slower. most of the time it should be in the middle.

You can go to K2. many watch lovers here go to K2 alot :D
