what if there's some visible scratches on the glass (above the dial), and would like to replace it with a new one? is it possible? will the shop make a custom one? (not some famous brand, or what type)

Sapphire or Plastic. If later, able to polish it off if the scratches are not deep.

I see i see. If home don't have the polish ingredient / material, can bring to shop ask them polish for a fare? and how about the rim around the plastic glass? The outer metal frame of the glass.

If its plastic I have read/heard ppl use toothpaste and a lot of elbow grease
The rim around the glass I'm guessing you're talking abt the bezel. Brasso?

Don't use Brasso if it's plated. Brasso will strip off the plating.

Don't use Brasso if it's plated. Brasso will strip off the plating.

ah.. mine should be plated one i guess. not those big big brand types. just a casual leather strapped battery-run type. @_@

yeah, in addition to the above, the titanium eyelid for the tourbillon is to protect the engine's lubrication oils from oxidizing in the presence of excess UV light. there are another 2 domes that houses spherical turbines that automatically spin to regulate the winding system against excessive speed to reduce stress and wear.
