it has a certain updated vintage style that is very consistent across all its watches. maybe its the font:

this particular one is an in house auto caliber, looks pretty nice and unique, and priced really well compared to similar calibers from more established brands:

prefer the pilot look as compared to the more common dress watch design. also i'm missing a worldtimer in my collection :)

this one in particular

What's the pricing for this like? Quite nice. :) And also what's so good about this brand? Didn't hear much of it.

This is really very nice. I would love to try out an alpina but where can I find them in sg?

I haven't seen any retail shop carrying Alpina, but they have a direct web store that delivers to Singapore.

Alpina has more than 100+ years history making sports watches but died during the quartz crisis. Now its part of the Frederic Constant group (hence the similarities of the world timers) dedicated to its original roots in sports watches.

My original interest was this green/black big date pilot:

However it was only available in quartz.

But the worldtimer with its in house movement only costing CHF3350 retail represents a lot of value for some collectors; you'll be paying a lot more if it came with a more established brand name. The design, depth and details are amazing:

I better stop here before i talk myself into buying one :s22:

You can check out the webstore here for the entire collection and pricing. Products – The Official Alpina Web Store

does anyone know where I can get diamond lapping paste in Singapore?

Need to remove a slight scratch from sapphire crystal of a watch.

Thanks!

but the movement not serious enough, quartz, haha

depends on price. i have few quartz watches, but these days prefer "serious quartz" i.e. +/-20secs a year type. some nice omega thermocompensated quartz out there looking great and keeping better time.
