not sure if i am missing out something.
an iwc
http://www.timeofswitzerland.com/en/IWC/Pilots/Chronograph/3777_04

is cheaper than a zennith
http://www.timeofswitzerland.com/en...bute_to_Felix_Baumgartner_03.2066.40569.M2060

always thought zennith is understated and the EP is highly regarded.

based on the savings of the gst i think i can use the money to fly to honk kong to pick up and go shopping before flying back :s13:

First of all the IWC 3777 is a modified 7750, work done by ETA.
It's already very expensive. For that usd$300 diff get a zenith better

thanks a million that a lot of useful links and i bookmarked a number of them.

1. i was thinking of after giving it a number of yrs of beating i might send for repolish (heard from a fren) and service before i put it aside and look for a second watch.
but i not sure if the repolish would it put it back to 90% of the new look?
2. would there be any issues if i buy from a grey? or anything which i need to look out for? e.g warranty issues? if they indicate it as new as in some of those i saw under the time of Switzerland?
3. my dream watch is an ALS but dun think that would be in my lifetime
4. when i look under watch quote there are a number of master collection are bracelet. however when i call a salesperson today i come to realise that alot are discontinued model.

even a number of model which i saw on the jlc website, she told me it not available anymore..faint..
she recommended me the IWC ingenieur series and saying all the ingenieur series are in house movement which i am skeptical and i cant google a satisfactory. i saw some forum saying some of the ingenieur are eta modified. but not really anything abt this new models.
a.INGENIEUR CHRONOGRAPH RACER
b.INGENIEUR DOUBLE CHRONOGRAPH TITANIUM

5. my other consideration and option wld really be to consider 1 lower range option for now, which include,
a. zennith
b. seiko
c. omega

though the more i read the more i am incline towards to jlc because of history, movement, brand, price, etc...but then again.. i am jus a noob..

but its really interesting to be reading and learning more about all this stuff

Depending on the beating it takes polishing can only do so much magic.
If your sweat can damage metal glass frame, if u need to change bracelet that's like 1-3k damage if it's still under production

An entry level a lange and sohne Saxonia is just usd$16-17k on grey. U are like 5-8k away from a lange and sohne! Of course if not any will do then harder esp a chrono u looking at sgd$100-120k

Go on IWC site if it states 89XXXX it's in house movement.

ALS all dressy watch - get a entry level ALS plus a steel beater for work. Wear that dressy watch on weekends.
A highend Seiko spring drive just usd$2k+
http://www.seiyajapan.com/collections/divers-collections/products/seiko-prospex-springdrive-sbdb009

Grey such as time of Switzerland do have stamp warranty card from AD they got watch from, so u get factory warranty. Collectorstime iirc has s max some with no stamp. Buying from grey important to know their reputation. Read around on WUS or post a qns on the reliability of grey.

I have no hope to get a ALS, a Glashutte PanoMaticLunar is on a radar down the road. I am happy with my zenith/jlc/credor all cheap watch

Handsome korkor when want to go party. That's a saxonia. The minimum prices for lange start from 21k onwards.

I wanted it for the missus but she says its too small.

Paris, Amsterdam, Germany, London, Switzerland?

I have a colleague going, she is looking to get a ALS or Rolex
