Come support new thread. was eating at the ship

I am pretty keen to get a red strap for christmas and New year.
Do you think my watch suit red?
Strap masters please enlighten

I think u have to try it yourself and see if it suits u. It is "your look".

Like Rachdanon mentioned, I found my look with the blackbay strap on my 305 but he has yet to find his.

Very personal taste leh..... All the best in your search!!!

the black submariner is probably the most versatile watch.
chronograph wise there's the daytona.....which is a good 50% more expensive than the submariner.

having said that, you have to see how they appeal to you on your wrist. pictures hardly tell the entire story.

I suggest u go to any AD and try (shamelessly, don't worry about that. it's your money. if they give u an attitude, walk out. there are plenty of AD branches around.) ALL the rolex watches.

you can go with your gf or wife to give u a third person perspective.

godspeed!

Thanks for the prompt reply and suggestions! Yes my wife will come with me but divers wise, will the Sea Dweller be a better choice? The Daytona seems great but only around 30K budget, good enough?

date wise is dependent on user. i check date more with my watch than i check time with it.

That's true as I don't wish to make a rash buy and I also want this to be my only Rolex.

submariner, sea dweller and daytona are good choices.
go try it out.

submariner is more popular choice or i should say classic model. wouldnt go out of trend.
if you want a higher class, daytona is better... but easier to leave scratches on the bezel due to high polish surface.

i think 30k can get a sub and daytona SS.

just to let u have a gauge on daytona, my two tone aka half gold daytona without diamond is retail at 22k+. THG discount on this piece is currently 8% although u may be able to negotiate more if u can. therefore if you are looking for full stainless steel version, u can get lots of change back frim ur 30k.

can try watch palace at lucky plaza. i like their service and range. they usually gives the better price too.

now comes the 'problem' of daytona. no date function which many ppl including myself finds the daytona is lacking.

speaking as daytona owner. for diver watches, i'll leave it to others.

do try on the watches. all watches (design / material) suits ppl differently.

good luck in ur searching and do post pics of ur hoot!

If u first time rolex buyer I would recommend Explorer 2. Cheap and sporty manly watch. And if possible get from grey dealer. Able to save 3 to 5k depend on models.

My dad also has a Submariner and is the green limited edition one, looks really good on him! For the Daytona, are there any grey/black ones rather than the silver/gold ones? The thing is, I can only buy one watch. :o

Wow that's some great info! Thanks! But I must have a date function and if the Daytona does not have it, then it's just the Submariner or Sea Dweller.

Not really into Explorers, but the Yatch Master II looks good.
