Hey guys,

As you know I bought an automatic laco with miyota movement as an "entry" lvl watch which looks pretty good too.

I read the tiny manual...it didn't say how many times i should wind.

The guy told me wind 10-15 times is enough and just wear it and it will run.
He also told me that although there is an over winding protection, it is still not good to wind till the state when the protection kicks in. I've also forgotten what he told me I should expect when it is wind to the max...I think there will be a "ticking" sound when it is at its max.

However I want to experiment and QC the watch myself on the "max" number of wind i need to maintain the 40+ hours reserved "power". Basically just wind and put it back in the box and and 1 day + later it should still be running. Even if the time is +- few seconds.


Any idea? Should I expect a noticeable difference when I wind it too much? If there is resistance then how great will the resistance be? Scare later turn till the crown break

wind delicately you should feel a point where the spring is fully wound up and it starts racheting. if you do it gently/normally the over-wind protection mechanism will do its part, just don't force rush the winding.

On a side note, was at pavillion bukit bintang and came across a shop selling mostly orient watches, several hundred of different models! Wanted to get one but Mrs was not feeling well and had to head back to the hotel unfortunately.

Yeah. Will depend largely on whether the heavyweights pull the trigger n find time to post. Some active light heavyweights (think coern n pwillie) topping it highly plausible too after bonus season.

Congrats... The best color theme next to safari. Did try the Chronographs before super thick and big like the deepsea. Very handsome and sporty watch just that abit dun like the sandwiched movements.

Did try the safari too, was torn between 2 of then. Safari with jacobs hornback would be really nice but reminded me of pam in a way. Also tried the 44mm RG but the price is way beyond me.
