Just dropped by the motorshow for work.. nothing very spectacular but good to see the big players all out in full force. Even though cars are expensive in Singapore, most brands managed to move their stock by quite a bit. Audi's new offerings look promising.. Japanese and Korean makes are as always getting better and better. But the highlight of the show was of course the Ford Mustang. Now GM please make the Camaro and Corvette in RHD please.

Was there on the first day... also for work purposes LOL.

Yeah the Audis were nice. Was very taken by the A7, plus now got the 2.0 Turbo version, good for tax and fuel bills. But the price...:s11: nearly 300k for a four cylinder car, then one current A7 driver said not biting.

I liked both the sensible cars and the madder ones. The Sonata was quite nice, massive interior room, but the centre console a bit dull, architecture too close to that of the older K5.

Anyway everybody was way more taken by the Baby Benzes and Audis. i was very cool with them. A little less space, a lot more badge.

Favourite irrational choice? The Range Rover Sport.

And just to stay on track, that is a very nice watch. Just curious, what does it usually take to modify a Seiko diver?

I was actually there on Thursday too to check out the place before the crowd comes in over the weekend.

A7 definitely caught my eye too.. the rear is sexy. But too many people around the Audi booth to get a good look and I don't look the kind that will buy one :s13:

The CLA45 and A45 are definitely drool worthy.. can imagine the fun driving the fastest 2.0L production car (don't know if it still holds the crown).

Mine's pretty standard. Posted a checklist + price a few pages back:

SNZH53J - $185 from K2
Dial - $50 from Dagaz
Strap - $85 from Kain Heritage
Dial swap - $25 at K2

Some go for the lume bezel from yobokies and other hand designs. Mine's just the dial.

Is this the purplish dial that Mr Goh was talking about? Seems like so in the photo. I'm still waiting for my 6 nato straps + 1 hirsch strap to arrive next week. Seems like I've caught the strap bug even though it's not a PAM. Just too bad they're 22mm and the PAM I'm eyeing is 24mm :(

Yesh man its quitr purplish. The missus wears it and shes gotten a lot of compliments for it.

Missus also keen in an A7 for a while. Or a TT. But i'm really sceptical about the dual clutch or S tronic in audi speak. Rather the old multitronic.

Nice nice.. I'm waiting for Dagaz's new dials for the SNZH57 to be in stock before I get a second SNZH. I think the only justification is that they are in different colours and the dials are different from my current blue piece.

Sceptical with regard to the reliability? As long as VAG doesn't screw up like how they did with the 7-speed DSG, I suppose it'll be fine - fingers crossed.

Multitronic is okay after Audi introduced the seven-plate clutch revision. But now Audi has given up on it, push all models to S-Tronic, unless you buying the older product like A4.

S-Tronic they have now cured the problem with new fluid, but not sure if the design actually can still hold out. In fact, some cars with the older synthetic fluid, got a change to the mineral fluid, that killed the box.

The new TT very nice!! Sat in the front, that virtual instrument panel is a highlight. Rear seat still not much use though, the BMW 2-Series better in that respect.

@yatto Need to ask you one last thing about watches. What are some of the brands Sincere has that THG might not deal in? Cause checked out the latter, the service is there, but you know... still looking around at options.

I also now know what you mean about "a watch speaking to you when you look at it" and "head vs heart decisions"

Yeah man. Almost got the TT back in 2008 but got the brera instead. Lack of steering feel and the S tronic was what pushed me away. Have heard and read many horrir stories abt the dual clutch but mostly, if not all, are from VW. Shldnt porsche and audi suffer the same prob as well?

Hmmmm sincere seem to have quite a lot of indies. Arnold n sons, roger dubuis, just to name a few. They also have ALS which THG doesnt. Franck muller too.

Yup yup pictures are deceiving. Gotta try it and buy what u like ;)

Btw did you know that the first Gen audi tt had a serious design flaw? Without the spoiler there's a chance that the tt would flip over at just over 100kmh.

If there ever were a watch brand for audi... I think it would be Sinn. What do you think?
