Hi dear watch pros, are sturhling watches good & worth it? My fren is selling me his tourbillion. Not sure whether this brand watch is worth anot. Thanks in advance. :)

sturhling probably best known of the mushroom brands.

Personally I won't spend more than 100-250 bucks on a piece.

where do you think prices will be in say 12 months time with the china economy slowing down, tourists declining in Singapore?

the swiss watch industry as whole will be impacted from the higher swiss franc so sales will fall and certainly inventory will be build up very quickly once the cheaper priced stocks are sold out.

if anything its a good time to plan a holiday in switzerland in the next year or so.

i take it that you're interested in the tourbillion mechanism. its very nice to view and marvel at, but be sure that you know what you're getting into as: its not the most accurate mechanical movement and servicing will probably have to be at source (factory).

many brands use oem chinese tourbillion movements, of which there is a very wide range of quality and pricing. i'm no expert but believe that there are some good chinese tourbillion movements out there, even ones with valid patents that scared the **** out of the swiss watch industry a few years back!
