Sorry, don't have a "watch vocabulary" as you guys. I'm very new to all of this.

I meant powerful as Powerful wrist presence.

And I don't want to limit myself because based on what i've google-ed, I found out about "Micro brands".

Please school this newbie..

Powerful presence???

Here's a few for you to consider:

AP ROO, ROC, RO
Franck Muller
ALS
G.O.
R.M.
Seven Friday
Devon
U boat
RSW
Welder

Panerai, no fight. Iconic crown guard, iconic dial face. the numerals are so big and iconic that you can identify a panerai further away than most watches. Not a dress watch per se but a work watch nonetheless.

Can't for most watches in the list. 7k budget

I sum for you

Rolex submariner date ( need to stretch your budget maybe by 2 to 3k)
Rolex submariner no date ( need to stretch your budget slight
Maybe can even try find a rolex GMT which to me is more dressy

Santos ( I support! Maybe stretch your budget a bit more)
Panerai 44mm ( luminor maybe within your budget for 000, 112 or try some radiomir which need to stretch your budget also)
IWC (watchlink got a few pieces within your budget. Google watchlink)

We are talking about preowned mostly

If not how about omega,Tudor or tag heuer? Can get brand new within your budget

Try sgroc also for your needs ( Google sgroc)

this one with the sexy plexi!

Id go for vintage Heuer timepieces instead of all these TAG reissues.

IMHO Tag doesn't add any value to their watches anymore.

You want wrist presence (iconic timepieces & brand)

You want it below 7k

Then my advice would be PRE-OWNED PAMs Luminor line, Rolex Sub, JLC Reveso, Omega POs and many others.

Most Pre-owned can be found in the range of 7k or slightly more, though probably only the entry level models. But hey, that is what you want.

Alternatively, I think for 7k u can get the new reissued Omega Speedmaster Moon Watch with all the fancy straps, box and all. The moon watch checks all your requirements.

1) 7k budget
2) immediately recognizable
3) fits under most shirt cuffs

Interesting view but I find it somewhat contradictory: Its not only Tag Heuer who don't add to the brand, Omega too is doing nothing to add to the Speedmaster Moonwatch reissues either.

The cal. 1861 in the 3570.50 is NOT the watch that went to the moon - its the 321, which contained a more elaborate movement. If anything the 861/1861 while approved by NASA but didn't go to the moon belong to the same class as the Seiko Colonel Pogue and many others including "cheapish" Chinese and Russian movements that have been to space and back many times without fail.

Movement-purist critics will also point out that the move from the 321 to 861/1861 was to lower production costs: less intricate bridges, a huge plastic part, and overall less intricate, less attractive movement.

For me there is only one reference for each brand:
- For Heuer, the 1133B
- For Speedmaster, the cal.321

The rest are reissues. And if you want to bring up the co-axial speedmaster, it is not a moonwatch and it has never been rated by NASA!

Still I think the reissues do a good job making a part of watchmaking history (or the romance of it) accessible and affordable to a wider public. Myself, I'm a big fan reissues and have a couple of speedmasters and monacos and others (e.g. Eterna kontiki 1973 israeli commando watch).
