There's always something alluring about the 305.. Although I wished they had omitted the word "Automatic" on the dial though.

The new deepblue worldtimer looks great:

The world map is elaborately done and the rotor detailing usually seen in watches much more expensive:

For me the preference was for simplicity and legibility, and the Alpina to me is nothing short of stunning in these aspects. Also it is more versatile, doing both dress and pilot look with ease:

too many to mention if you really look, some with amazing tech like gps. understandably with the movement and dial complication these may cost a lot.

i was looking at something "relatively affordably" so these were also under consideration :

nomos unique clean minimalist appeal

ball with "day" dial

bremont worldtimer with chrono capabilties (at budget limit already)

just for comparison, this one costs more than $10K

this one too, however considering the features this one packs a lot of value

zenith's everything but the kitchen sink :
- world timer
- chrono (central sweeping)
- alarm (central hand with both on/off and power reserve indicators)
- big date
- proven and historic in-house movement (el primero)
- 36K bph

probably the world's most complicated movement/features combo squeezed into a 45mm diameter case and only 9m thick.
