not a good price, unless you REALLY like the piece. 21% VAT doesn't mean your tax rebate is 21% of purchase price.

ask them for the exact rebate amount - they can calculate for you on the spot - before you decide.

That's true! Perhaps I'll try that after my Python strap gets a little worn! Haha! Although I'm a little torn between the bright red and a ammo strap (style vs history).

Btw, very nice AMG.

Get a strap before you wear out your python strap. But I can't imagine how are you going to wear it out though. The exotic skin is tough! The scales do not fall out.

Or get both bright red and an ammo strap! Problem solved. An authentic old ammo strap or a vintage looking one? The issue that I have with "authentic" ammo strap is that the strapmaker can advertise the ammo leather to be decades old but where is the authenticity? Or how do you know?

I could order one from around my birth years of WW2 and shell out big bucks for it BUT what are the difference between that and some ammo leather that are made in the 1970s and are we experienced enough to detect the differences?

I have to agree with you. Occasionally, I do accidentally brush my strap across some surfaces and the scales still remain intact. I wish I could get both! Due to budget constraints, I have to choose only one between the two (can't have my cake and eat it as well).

Regarding the authenticity, wouldn't there be a stamp on the strap with the year informing us of the year in which it was made in? Well granted we don't really know if the stamp is legit.. but at least it gives us a guide to do so. And yes.. most probably we can't really tell the difference between a 1950's strap or a 1970's strap for sure..

Oh btw, what do you think is the maximum thickness that a Pam strap should be though..? I was mulling over the idea of a 5-6 mm ammo strap (if I do choose that one) coupled with the maddog pig buckle that I currently have.. that'll be totally insane.
