the bezel was swopped? speedy uses aluminium bezel, right?

can share why the swop was done?

Mm hmm, alum bezel!

The second, banged-up bezel is original to the watch. There are some differences between both bezels: the accent over the "E" in tachymetre, the positioning of the dot in relation to "70"... But most importantly, the placement of the dot in relation to "90" - whether it's a "Dot Over Ninety" (DON), or "Dot Next to Ninety" (DNN).

I don't know what the right values for either bezel are, but as of late, DON bezels placed on ebay were sold for upward of SGD $800-1000. Which is pretty ridiculous when you think about how minor the differences are.

For office work? Sports? Casual? Rough environment like engineer? Site surveyor?

DW is the current hype now.
Simple. Clean. Neat.
Interchangeable watch straps.

Also, if anyone's interested, some straps made from shell cordo from the shinki tannery (in Japan). Taken at the OGL shop at Bali Lane.

that's a revered "dot over 90" bezel :)

its something of a fascination for the pre- and early- moonwatch fans.

Actually not being offensive.

I dropped my fff last week - the bezel's similar now :p

the difference of course being that you could sell your fff and still not afford that dot-over-ninety bezel ;)

anyway i don't think any matured watch collectors would take offence to their peculiar fascinations. not that i'm calling arctuates "matured" :)

None taken, from an objective standpoint it does seem rather artificial, this focus on dots...

And yes, nowhere near matured...!

Wow really vintage lover.
Actually pay that money for a different bezel
Why your original vintage speedy don't have the original bezel?

I didn't buy the bezel. I bought the watch which came with two bezels, one original and one replacement.

Can't imagine spending a thousand bucks on a bezel.

Indeed I got to know DW through my own roaming eyes on the MRT. From far looked like CW but Christopher Ward logo is not like that. In the end Google images led me to DW. Interesting that the community actually notices what watches each wears for DW to become trendy. The look harks back to the simple dress watch --> all this sounds good as I mull over the Master Control series. :D

Took leave but in the end become driver for kids and wife. Waiting outside school...
