Hello guys. Awhile ago I was looking at getting a 35mm Nomos tangente but as there isnt any AD in sg, I tried a 36mm DW in Bencoolen to figure out if the size would suit me. To my dismay, it was waaaaaaaaaaay too small and I gave up on the Nomos which was even smaller.

As I was checking out the window displays at one of the watch shops, I saw the IWC Portuguese(371446) with blue hands and I was mesmerized. However, it is significantly more ex than the Nomos and I left feeling emo after checking out the price. Hahaha.

Separately, I saw the Rolex Sub(114060) no date somewhere in the forum and thought it looks really good. I know they are 2 very different watches but I hope to seek your opinions on them and hopefully where to get (one of)them at a good price too. I've already checked out chuanwatch, brighttime, swx and a few more local sellers I found on google.

TIA!! :s13:

You should research more yourself. Different people relate to watch differently. Is movement of importance to you? Is heritage important to you? Rarity? What do you wanna match it with? What do you wanna portray? It's an extension of you.

Most people will find Rolex a more worthy buy as it has better resale value, in house movement etc. But hey, if you like the IWC better why not. The most important consideration is that you like the watch and you are going wear it.

I like the Portuguese a little more but I already have a dress watch so I guess the Sub will be a better choice.. Better resale value sounds good. The wristshot from Donten looks really sweet :s13:

I've actually googled quite a bit on the watches. Read about the ETA movement in the IWC, how they change the parts to meet their requirements etc etc Not conversant when it gets too technical but I got do a little but of homework la. haha.

I think both brands are pretty prestigious. Used to think that wear Rolex a bit uncle but the Sub actually looks really sporty(Nice shot :D). Just wanna seek the opinions and the hands on experiences you guys have with the watches. I guess I'm looking more for a sporty watch than a dress watch. Only started looking at the watch recently so I have no idea what's a good price. I've seen around 8(2nd hand)-8.8k(new). Any recommended place to buy if I'm looking for new?

Enjoy your new watch... Your first two pics seems stretched out of proportion.

Still insufficient posts to post links/pics :s22: nice watches!

I like them both but only have the money for one. lol. If I dont have my Zenith I'll get the IWC portuguese but since I already have a dress watch I think I should get the Sub. Now to find a good deal..

1. Automatic watch uses your movement to wind up the watch. Quartz watch uses battery (there are also solar powered, Kinetic etc)

2. Some watches changes date from 10 pm to 2 am. The date mechanism is hence engaged at that moment, therefore not advisable to change date iirc.

Enjoy your stay here!

Thanks for ur help !!
