And also, I finally found the titanium strap to be slightly too heavy too, but I didn't want to switch back to the rubber strap, so here it is on a NATO strap!

Advice on SEIKO watches

I have went to Skywatches in Peoples Park Complex to look at the SEIKO watches. Does anyone has any feedback or review on this shop?

Admit that the price are very attractive, cos I did compared with some other shops offers.

However, I have 2 queries and deeply appreciate if anyone here with the knowledge can advice me:

1) model J series "Made in Japan", and norm model, "Japan movement" - what are the difference between these two, apart from the price difference? Is a japan movement watch good enough for normal wearing? Or is it even authentic piece even?

2) International warranty. There are no warranty cards given, and was told the receipt will be serve as a warranty for a year. Is this a norm?

Sorry to have post my queries here as I cant seem to find the information elsewhere in this forum. Appreciate if anyone can help to advice on the above. Also, anyone has the links on Skywatches, would appreciate if you can post me the link here too.

My first Seiko watch was bought from skywatches. In hindsight, I believe K2 is the cheapest place in Singapore to get Seiko watches.

I used the receipt to send my Seiko watch back because of an issue (although the service center couldn't find it and solve it), so you don't have to worry about that.

However, the receipt ink may fades away in a few months so you might want to take a photo of it with the watch.

1) j series is just made in Japan. K series is others. But are using same movement. It depends on the quality control and assurance already. Made in Japan would so call be better.Some dial maybe different from J and K like the skx007. If not nothing Much.

2) skywatches and k2 usually are parallel import. Thong sia don't service them if I am not wrong. I just got my Seiko from Japan and it's warranty is from thong sia. Local distro

As this is the first time I am getting a watch with Soprod A10-2 movement, it really surprised me on it accuracy as compare with the ETA movement on my Tissot Visodate. Kudos to Steinhart for using this excellent movement

Soprod does all the fancy panerai mod before they have the ability to do things inhouse.
A10 us design to compete with ETA 2892 not ETA 2824 found on your visodate

They will not provide parts to non swatch companies but will sell completed movement today

Swatch will cease selling completed movement on 31 December 2019

not a big guy on accuracy but skx007 has been damn good. solid movement.

Agreed, the SW200 is apparently a direct clone of and replacement for the ETA 2824-2. When I was reading up on Tag Heuer's Caliber 5, some sources mentioned that it uses a ETA 2824-2 as a base, others said it uses Sellita SW 200 as a base. What I believe is that Tag initially used ETA 2824-2, but recently switched over to SW 200 quietly. To me, there is no difference. Consider this paragraph from an ABTW article:

Sellita is a Swiss movement manufacturer and for the most part copies ETA movements. It does this because it has the machinery capable of such work, along with the fact that the ETA designs are old enough to likely no longer be protected under any Patent rights. For this reason Sellita can make copies of ETA movements just like drug companies can make generic drugs after a period of time.

Also the Soprod A10 is considered a level above the ETA 2824-2, hence no surprise that it's more expensive.
