Haha. I wouldn't say tag more branded. Haha. All is branded. Now tudor also do alot of marketing but their pelagos and black bay is the best thing they did. So far in the modern times

Late 90s more than 1k lah.. I got mine Quartz mid 90s already close to 1k, need 200 more to get auto. Back then I am getting close to 30% off. That time loads of marketing already.

Then mine was the old 2000 series. If you think 1500 series u maybe right

For 90s teens/young adults, TAG definitely meant something. The brand and adverts were at their peak then.. Don't crack under pressure.

Replicas of TAG 2000 series was probably as rampant (if not more) than rolex subs then.

For Rolex. for those old enough to receive Asia magazine along with Sunday Times, they never fail to secure the backpage advert of the magazine. Found myself reading those adverts every week and I guess that was how I was pretty certain on getting a Rolex Sub as an adult.

FWIW, I bought a quartz tag 2000 series as my 1st luxury watch haha.. but I always knew I would want to get the Sub.

their aquaracer was priced ok. I paid 1750 for a bracelet wab2010. solid watch. thrash it and still sold it for 900 after 5 years.

my first luxury watch. haha I guess we are all victims

their Carrera design not bad.

but Monaco was probably the iconic one

Thats y i said branded with " ". Cos to many who don know much, they only see tag. Nvr or seldom hear abt tudor. Nowadays companies who do more advertising, become more "branded".

branded, nothing beats rolex. haha

tag always associate themselves as young and adventurous.
now they have Jeremy Lin and Cara Delevingne as their spokesperson.
sure aim at the younger crowd.

if i am not wrong, a watch maker is also known as jeweller. as far as i know.

somehow or rather it goes together. haha

in old days, watches are jewelry, and many jewelers make the watch case but movement comes from someone else.

panerai used to make watches with rolex movements...

carrera day date is a damn fine looking watch. I sold mine only when i got my AP royal oak chrono.

but pls don't buy brand new, with the Tag price increases in recent years, buying new is really getting chopped gao gao.

Not really so, change battery at tag cost like $50 every 2 yrs.at times the service center insist you overhaul that's like $200+. They will also replace rubber gasket and test water resistant if so that's another $50 or so. So every 2 yrs u spending $50 to $300.! If somehow the EOL indicator not working right and battery leak replace dial and movement can cost $400 or so.

Just go K2 change battery $10. If you dont dive 200m, dont bother about the rubber gasket.
