My late ah gong gave my dad a Seiko quartz back when my dad first started working.
Now the battery had died for quite some time alr(think a few years) n my dad didn't replace it. thus I assume the internals r in a bad shape alr.

I hope to revive the watch n clean up the internals.
anyone knows if I bring it to the Seiko service centre, will it cost me a bomb?
or if shop outside able to restore the Seiko quartz too??

师兄认为见到一只虫子，就该把整篮的D24扔掉，太可惜了吧？
不是在于你花多少，就会得的多少。你花个两三百千，还是二三十万买辆高配置的GOLF，就肯定能够享受到那高配置的行车表现？万一问题出现在变速箱，怎么办？是不是该抨击福士伟根够够？

师兄。。。您无论花几百买只 天梭，甚至十多二十万买只 阿朗爽，都会有瑕疵品，还是时间不准确，机率会因产量，生产过程，而提高还是降低。。。 更有趣的是。。。这些比较高价的，都是机械表！
几百块一只天梭，产量有多高？你这瑕疵品与市面上其他的又占了多高的比率？

我并不是指师兄您鸡蛋里挑骨头，还是一篮榴莲里挑只虫。。。而是建议师兄您在看消费品时，不要把焦点放在品牌上还是其售价上。。。 而是将焦点放在细节上，那么花的钱不会太冤枉，还可以教你玩得够疯狂！

花血汗赚回來的钱去买那么昂贵的表, 不应该挑剔吗? 我不是富二代啊! 我也晓得什么产品都会有霞庛, 但tissot的实在很璃普!表的针全走跑位! 那你是说机械表mechanical watch是因生产的细节所以霞庛的机率会降到最低最贵吗? Rolex与GS spring drive的应该是没问题的吧?

My hope is not spend more than $10k to get a upper-middle level watch. I scare scarly turn out to be yet another tissot that gets spoilt within 3 months heartpain. I dont mind throw away $500. But throw away too much i nay not be able to survive from the trauma ordeal.

I always drop or bang my watch, dont think your suggestion can work.

師兄說的的確沒錯，我們以血汗錢買的錶應該挑剔些。。。但師兄是否忘了我們的挑剔，應該在付款之前吧？
在走到收銀櫃檯之前，我們就應該挑剔些，除了觀察外觀是否有刮痕傷痕之外，我們也應該看看時針是否有你提出的走位，還是外圈是否與時標對準，秒針是否走得卡卡的。。。等等。。。選好了再付款。付款之後要是發現還有瑕疵，老實說賣家的責任也就只有幾天那麼長，過後有何不滿之處，就落在買家與產家/代理之間了。
（師兄應該有聽聞SWATCH維修部對於送來的品牌錶款有著不同的服務態度吧。。。）

我自己本身擁有將近50隻的機械表，外加大概25隻石英錶款。。。 在付款之前就已經做了深入的研究還有理解各個品牌的長處與短處。因此也算是每次買錶就有了心裡準備，面對的會有怎麼樣的結果。就如，精工K款的潛水錶，外圈上的記號通常不會與錶盤上的時標對準，我還是買下了。。。 如果我挑剔一些，可能那幾款就不會在我的收集之中了。

當然我的錶，都是平價或。不能搬上桑尼師兄您的檯面了。。。 但是有一點我能確定的，我是玩得，戴得不亦樂乎。

置於師兄提問是否該選擇老叻還是奢華精工錶款。。。 錢在師兄的手上，要怎麼花是您的選擇。不過絕大多數這裡的師兄弟都會給予這兩個中高級品牌有不同的評價吧。。。

Grand Seiko 真的很耐看。无论被posted那么多次, 都那么光鲜亮丽, 不覚厌倦。Though dont have resale value or brand recognition. Under $10k can get or not huh? Where to find AD that carries GS? Think i will finally settle for GS.

Any advices should i get automatic, quartz or spring drive?

What model is that? Still got stock?

GS got interest free instalments or not?

Sorry boss, the looks not to my liking. Actually im looking more for a dress watch or something universal all-in-one i can wear to most occasions, mostly for work and also can wear for casual & preferably have perpetual calendar features. Cos to me being able to see the date, day & month on a watch is important. I have G shock already so not looking for casio or analog. A divers watch looks rather appealing but im not sure if it can suit my working image or not. Most of the times im stationed in office, but occasionally will get to see clients about a few times every quarter year. They are usually higher mgmt like CFO, CEO, directors etc. Appreciate yur advice.

People who truly appreciate the history of GS would know how accurate a GS quartz is

But for someone who is absolutely hell bent on getting that "Perfect condition" watch within 10k...

It's best to keep the money. Wait till it reaches 50k then hoot a ALS Lange One

Best go bencoolen see the watches physical and allow you to examine the conditions.

Buying a watch for a lady or a female friend... it's best to buy it physical and not off an online shop.

guy's watch is mostly about the mechanics within the watch..
girl's watch is mostly about the exterior aesthetics and my fashion/color combi sense is known to be pretty bad..haha

how does GMT, Submariner, Yatchmaster & Datejust stack up against each other ah?
