I adjust the time only when I need to wear the watch, and I dun adjust the date for watches without quick set.

Auto or mechanical Watches (with date or day/date) and without quick set are rare these days. But I feel it's quite nostalgic

Wah lau, not so fast leh.... at least play play few months first....
Morning usually rushing for time... I try to wind last time once every 2 to 3 days for the hand wind watches. For some with better power reserve like 7 to 8 days, I try to wind every week. Haha. Me lazy lah....
Auto needless to say liao.... just dump in the winder... just that recently read up some info on the mechanism of auto and hand wind which advise not to keep it running all the time and should let it rest thou...

Morning rush for time? How crazy is your morning?
Does it take that much time winding watch? Reduce post on HWz or FB not hard to find time I gather. It's really want to do or not.

With smart lights or smart home we don't even want to walk 2 steps to turn off light, even coffee machine auto make coffee.

Hmmm... So the argument is that the inertia of the weight will be sufficient to keep it in place and hence run the winding mechanism.

Interesting.

I thought i saw an article before saying Sinn 104 auto chrono already went up there.

But speedmaster is still the official one and can go do moonwalk

Usually I will wind my watch while I am waiting for the mrt. Or while I am walking to the mrt station, I will hold my watch in my hand and then slowly turn the crown to wind it up

Winding a few in the morning to keep all running... abit troublesome bro if you know what I mean. Not all watches have the same power reserve as well... which is why I ask if the bros here keep all their watches running all the time or wind as per use.

Motor not moving liao not sure why....
I think material wise. Leather, wood or plastic affect the pricing I gather. 200 bucks depends on how many brand, motors, slots, materials, frequency etc... hard to tell by the pricing alone...

bro ... sorry. your watch need to wind to run or automatiq?
If automatiq why you need to wind it up? :s11:

I will still wind it up even if it is automatic. For my daily beaters I don't wind it everyday. Probably every 2-3 days and just turn the crown abt 5 times. since its automatic, I don't see a need to wind my watches fully.

Motor not moving liao not sure why....

most of the casing I read from the net, they are using Mabuchi Japanese Motor.
maybe you can replace the dead motor yourself and save up the rest of it.
Many tuts in youtube and also the net.

If I have one, maybe I'll do the repair myself :o

Anyone can recommend a leather strap for this old datejust? The chain is old...looking to give it a new look...

Colour? Type of finish? I can't visualise what kind of strap to replace?

Thanks

It might look like an original LED torch but check out the following:

This is how my Seiko looks like in my well-lit office:

And this is how my Seiko looks like after a ONE SECOND blast with the torch:

Isn't it crazy that you can see the lume in a well-lit office? This is the effect I can only get after some time in the sun!

And the reason for that is because the torch is a...

UV Torch! Bought for less than $5 from ebay haha. Perfect for taking a quick full lume shot!

Highly recommended for those who like to take lume shots. Tomorrow my colleague plans to wear his Rolex Sub to office for me to try try this torch on.

Correct me if I am wrong bro, basically you leave the date as it is without adjusting to tothe correct date? Or you manually wind the hours to shift the date?
Yup wrong date nvm. Very tedious to adjust to the correct date. Peel coupon I use phone for date

Sorry hard to see the point.
If you love watches I don't see the trouble.

If that troublesome just get Quartz
