Hi guys,

I have orient bambino watch and I'm looking for a replacement of the strap as mine got worn out. Anybody knows of any online or local shop that sells the authentic original leather strap?

Much thanks!

Thanks for the recommendations guys. However, I've read some reviews that caution against TH swapping bracelets, parts. I don't know what to make of it.

Any truth to it? Does the boss use original Rolex replacement parts if there is a need during servicing?

I am tempted to go to RSC but I have also read horror stories of them messing up watches after servicing with over polishing, scratches, and a bunch of other things not expected of Rolex.

The wait at JW was 5-6months the last I checked. Really too long.

It mean,
Normally just pass Mr wu the watch head and he will service for u. If he request to service with the bracelet, it mean fishy...

Thanks frosty.

I always thought it was Mr Lim at TH instead of a Mr. Wu.

Actually Ed Yeo was saying, if you feel unsafe or uncomfortable.. you may send in your watch without bracelet.. the Mr Wu is actually Mr Goh of K2, as Ed Yeo mentioned new customer of K2 also send in without bracelet too

If the shop watch required you to send in the bracelet too, then its fishy ..

不好意思。。。 我用了MS翻译,再做些修饰,意思是。。。
If you are looking for TH watch repair or maintenance for the first time ... The most secure, just hand over the watch head. Watch chain bring back.

在K2, Mr Goh there was a "new customer" heard say other else on him ... Find Mr Goh service can just give the watch head, Mr Goh was willing to take the job ... OK. Watch repair teacher require you to hand over the watch band ... It's perhaps worth questioning.

Actually I think rolex movements quite popular so those more experienced watch makers should have no issue servicing. Only problem is if any part need to be replaced - where are they going to get genuine parts from? Scavenging is a popular practice (even in car workshops) to get the watch out asap. Some even got pre-serviced movements (subcontracted to home-based watchmakers to service) so they do a direct swap and pass you the next day - you still get a genuine movement but it isn't your initial one, yours will be serviced own time own target by a subcontractor and returned back to the watchmaker for the next swap.

My father's friend is a watchmaker, and I witnessed him subcontracting movements (I learnt from my dad that he does it to popular rolex and omega models) to his trusted friends to service. Needless to say I never gave him any business, but such practices are prevalent nonetheless, especially when you bring the watch to service and ask for it to be done within a few days to wear for CNY.

I only serviced rolex twice, and both times I requested for the movement number to be recorded on the invoice, when going back to collect, I ask the watchmaker to show me the movement number again. Of coz, I need to have some comfort level that he doesn't swap other parts lar, haha.
