You mean Foxconn? I remember reading before not all Xiaomi series are manufactured there, don't know how true...

Just now came upon a Taiwan finance show on youtube and they mentioned that Hongmi(Redmi) is produced from Taiwan with many of its components coming from Taiwan, especially the MediaTek chips.

Isn't the nexus 5 running on the Snapdragon 800 chipset too?

Higher mp doesn't equate better camera, then you'll probably need to reaccess iPhone5s's image quality by its mp count?

Nexus 5 isn't marketed in Singapore, we don't even have it in our playstore, xiaomi is officially launched in sg, as for rom choice some prefer the huge Dev support behind nexus devices as compared to other phones.

Mi3 Snapdragon variant is the better one as compared to Nexus5. If I recall correctly, the gpu performance running at higher ghz.

True that higher mp does not means better pics haha. But we also know nexus5 camera is above average. So the mi3 stands a greater chance with dual Philips led light and 13mp Sony exmor(quite decent)

In the other hand, mi3 is targeting those price and hype conscious kind who roughly know what the different specs mean but not into rooting and etc. Thus the miui is more than enough for them.

IT show 2014 starts on Feb 27th. If Xiaomi launches Mi3 Part of IT show 2014 and if teleco's offer Mi3 for IT show then Xiaomi can sell more units..

The news is that Starhub will be offering packages incorporating Redmi at the IT show. Mi3 will only be available for order on March 7.

No 4G no matter. I'm still on the old 3G 10gb plan.

Same same ... With the low price of all the XiaoMi phone, many people have better reason not to reconstract and stay on the old plan!

You should have waited for Singapore version. China variant has no Playstore because of the censorship with google

Bro happen to me as well during first installation of Google play. I delete and reinstall and it works fine.

Oh, glad to hear I am not alone and it can be fixed. Where do you find the Playstore apk? I search the Internet, many websites claim to offer download but the download link don't work.

The problem with waiting is that even if it is launched on March 7, it will be sold online within 2~3 minutes. No sure way of getting it

A relative in HKG helped me to buy from Shenzhen. He helped me to bid online for three weeks but couldn't get it. Then he said there is a way to sure get it but must pay RMB150 more. Not sure what way though but I paid and immediately got it.
