though 16G n no SD card, an OTG as above helps...(for media at least)

If BIG games, likely will consume lot of space

Just a Quick Question. Why do people need so much memory on their phone ? What is there to store ? I m curious. I uses a MI3 and I have no issues with the 16GB or rather 12 plus GB of storage space.

And the fact about LTE, honestly local LTE is not as fantastic as what the SP claim it is. IMHO I honestly find that 3G is more stable as compared to LTE.

This is something that I really cannot understand.
16GB may sound like a lot but if you make full use of your smartphone, you'll find 16GB woefully inadequate. For instance, my Sony Xperia Z2 currently holds the following data:

  • 6GB of MP3 Music files - My entire collection, which is not that large to begin with.
  • 5.2GB of Picasa picture files - I maintain a synchronised local copy of my photo archive on my phone, accessible any time, regardless of data connection.
  • 3.0GB comprising one free movie from Sony that I downloaded. I have 5 more free movies that I have yet to download ...
  • 1.2GB of Evernote data - Evernote is a brilliant info repository, I maintain a local synchronised copy of my data on my Z2.
  • 1.0GB of Bible data files - It's so large because it includes a voice recording of all New Testament books; you can have the bible read to you in addition to reading it.
  • 0.8GB of Apps backup via Super Backup Pro - allows you to reinstall older versions of apps if app updates don't work or are corrupted.
  • 0.4GB Oxford Dictionary which includes voice pronunciation of words.
  • 0.35GB of Business Cards data - I use Scanbizcards to maintain scanned images of all business cards that I receive.

All the above already come up to almost 18GB and I have yet to include the rest of my apps, photos that I casually snap, whatsapp data etc ! And I don't even play games ... How am I to store all of this on measly 16GB of internal storage?

Although some of the data is kept in the 'cloud', I make it a point to maintain a synchronized copy of the data on my device wherever possible. Accessing data on your device is always faster than streaming and you don't have to worry about the quality of your data connection or whether you are using up your free data entitlement.

So if you are a serious smartphone user who want to leverage on the power of smartphones, having 16GB internal storage without SD card expansion will not be good enough.
