Would like to ask for some opinion on this build.

Doing a simple gaming pc for my room. Small simple compact, not very hardcore gfx intensive

Asrock H81M-HDS + Intel I5 4460
8Gb kingston value ram
250gb Zotac or Evo 850
1TB 7.2K RPM Toshiba HDD
Palit GTX 950
Superflower leader 90+ 550 full modular
Thermaltake core v21

any feed back or adice greatly appreciated =)

Picking V21 cos side can bling bling for my room, might wanna get a RGB kit from deepcool and wack on this M-ITX system =)

Playing games like DOTA 2, Starwar battlefront and battleborn

Would like to keep the build 1k and below and as low as possible.

KB MSE SCREEN OS all no need =)

Thx peeps

You can probably save about 50-60 bucks on the PSU with a less fancy model from FSP.

Get the 8GB ram from lazada(there was a code to get one stick 8GB for dirt cheap go search around). Might be able to bump up to gtx 960 with same budget.

Eh you want M-ITX or MATX? The build you listed is MATX.

Anyway the build looks good. The gtx 950 has great performance at its price point. But the 550W PSU a bit overkill for your system.

Power supply is the component one should not scrimp on when building a rig. Always give more wattage for allowance and maybe take into account future graphic card upgrades.

I agree that PSU is one component that TS should invest in. I am not asking him to get those no brand power supply. Investing in PSU from the usual brands like seasonic/superflower will definitely pay dividends.

What I am saying is that if the wattage of the power supply is too much higher than the utilisation, then the PSU won't perform efficiently. I thought for build with a card like the gtx 950, perhaps a 450w PSU will be more than sufficient. Just an opinion.

Same as my config.... :D

Initially thinking of getting core V21 too.. but in the end choose other case.. the only reason is, core v21 is not visually attractive.. to me at least.. ;)

If you're planning on upgrading to a GTX980 Ti ... Which is highly unlikely which a i5 4460 has no way of keeping up with a GPU of the caliber. GTX970 possibly but even a 450W PSU has no issues with that combo.

And future GPUs will get more and more efficient.

And we're talking about FSP power supplies, not one hung low PSUs at least.

Jonsbo C2 with 140mm fan below good choice too. With a ID Cooling IS40 to take care of cooling.

Takes 3.5" and 2.5" drive no issue even with bottom fan in place.

As for your rig I suggest the Zotac SSD. Cheaper, faster.

And for GPU, get the Zotac GTX950. Higher base and boost clocks, better cooler. And 5 years warranty

What case u went for? Was looking at carbide air 240 but seems like a dust magnet

Sent from Samsung SM-G935F using GAGT

core v21 is also dust magnet.

only side panels dust filter easy to clean. front filter non-removable mesh kind, PITA to clean. and when front filter mesh have dust, look of case is ruined.

side panels build quality a bit bad, but can't expect much from $89 case. doesn't align properly.

I use my duaki bosch leaf blower for blowing dust.
