Any recommendations for affordable thin dress shoes?

I am looking for thin mid-calf socks with good traction over the ankles and calves so that they won't slip down easily.

I tried Viccel but their sizing is damn weird. Also don't like the long over-the-calf (OTC) socks cos my trousers are slimmer.

Tried Uniqlo but theirs are mostly quite thick.

Bresciani? Pantherella?

Usually find that the wool-based ones tend to be thinner than cotton.

Aren't these very expensive? Besides, wool would be hotter than cotton right?

I would think socks with some synthetics in the material mix would be more lasting. Not too sure.

U didn't mention anything about budget ma hehe..

From personal experience, wool/wool mix socks aren't really hotter and are quite comfortable.. Better at keeping the feet dry than cotton IMHO. They are more pricey than cotton ones though..

Maybe u can try edward max. Korean brand so it is smaller in size. Compared to viccel, they are huge. I cannot wear viccel at all even i buy the correct size for myself. For the branded wool socks, some of them are like stocking very thin and comfy but transparent so do take note of that.

Has anyone tried Bata socks for working attire? How do those compare to Viccel and Uniqlo in terms of thickness, length and calf traction?

Btw has anyone tried Viccel mid-calf socks? How is the length? And what are the differences in feel between cotton dress socks and textured socks? Do textured hold the calf better or is it just thicker?
