You can find trash bin at convenient stores. They don’t provide trash bin for many reasons, one of which is for processing of recycleable trash, another, is they don’t encourage ppl to eat/drink while walking.

Konbini and vending machines ... or for small waste items just hang on to it until you get back to your hotel.

I spent 4 weeks and discovered after awhile the service you get, is fake. The smiles and tones were all robot like. more sad for them than hate.

also I got laughed at and challenged to a fight in a Suki-ya. I was eating, around 12am, and this guy just laughed hysterically, and I realised he was laughing at me. I stared him down and then he shouted in Japanese which led to his friend forcing him out of the restaurant. then I laughed and continued my meal. I malay, no way im gg to lose in a staring match (Hahaha)

Also got rudely shoo out of a store in Shibuya. I was about to compliment the owner how nice his stuff was. I rudely told him off as well

I think the no bins on the streets is absolute genius though. I actually brought back the habit of holding on to my trash if theres no bin. sometimes i even forget until i reach home lol

That's why I always have a few plastic bags with me when I travel there- for trash and to put stuff that I buy from the supermarkets as some supermarkets there charge a fee for plastic bag.

The inflexibility kills me.

Japanese operate from manuals. If u have a request not in their manual, they wouldnt know what to do. Literally freeze like a hanged conputer until you offer solution.

For what reasons were you laughed at and shooed out of the store?

Both i dont know. I was eating with my wife and all of a sudden the laugh then pointing at me. his friend seems obviously embarrassed when he realised I was ready for anything and literally forced him out the store while the ****** shouted something in Japanese. i just laughed back at him when that happen.

The store lagi I dont know sia. It was like those rocker store selling those peaky blinders kind of fashion. I wanted to ask/say something nice about his hats because they were really nice. then he motioned to get out and I really believe he wanted to spit at me and he kept grumbling in Japanese. I literally shouted in his face, "K", and walked out the store saying **** off.

The bus ride. Maybe I am too used of eazi link style tap and go here. To board onto the bus. Have to go in from the centre. Then getting more passengers boarding the bus and especially to tourist attractions . Soon it packed like sardines. I pity those who need to align before the main stop. Passenger have to go to the front door for payment. It can be a 2 to 3 mins wait for every stop.

Wow .
You seem to get into trouble easily.
It must be your handsome look. :o

Occasionally some may be rude but mostly very courteous.

Agreed :s13:

Yes, there were also alot more pleasant encounters than the 2 isolated incident so no, nothing really to hate about Japan.

I have only encountered 1 super inflexible $!&*^! experience at a restaurant. Shared a few years ago so lazy to dig back. But I think this was repaid by another super pleasant experience in Kyoto that accepts guests in order as soon as the table is ready. So if the next table fits for 6pax and you only have 2pax, you get to sit there. It happened that the next available table for us was the VIP private room for 10pax with a view to a nice, private garden. We were quite paiseh and offer the next batch as they have more people than us but the waitress insisted. So well yeah... we super enjoyed the meal and took our time to order more. One of the most memorable experience. :D

As for the staring incident, it happened to me here instead of overseas sadly.
