Oooh the shine muscat JHJ. Got that flowery aroma that I've never tasted in any other grape. Not even the ones that imported from Japan and sold here, maybe it's issue of ripenessWhere did you get it? They are known for their muscat grapes. Pricey but tastes legendary.
Had the same experience, the ones at DDD are a far cry, not forgetting 2-3x the price due to importingOooh the shine muscat JHJ. Got that flowery aroma that I've never tasted in any other grape. Not even the ones that imported from Japan and sold here, maybe it's issue of ripeness
I find the lack of dustbins disturbing =/ and the food can be rather salty. If unlucky didnt plan the food well, it end up being too salty for my taste

1. Japanese depicted in media like damn nice. In truth, only the service line is nice. And that's probably only coz they r paid. Sure, there are nice people around. Some even go out of their way to help. But many on the street will just shove u if walk too slow or blocking them. (not really my fault since people in front of me not moving fast enough too) some even stare at you for no reason (coz foreigner, maybe?)
2. Their recycling, on the surface, has good intention. But I highly doubt its usefulness and I don't see a need for (some) locals to snark at foreigners who put into the wrong bins. Esp at common areas in Airbnb/capsule hotels.
3. Commoners have no etiquette. They say no loud noise yet their kids run around screaming . They don't know how to move in or give people space. Some Knock into people don't apologize. Take up 2 seats on buses with their bags. Recline their seats then proceed to sleep horizontally on 3 chairs on a bus, blocking the only walkway. Also encountered some Recline their seat fully on an overnight bus, then proceed to Sit damn low/forward on the bus seat, preventing the front person from reclining their seat.
Seems to me they only know what is taught to them in school. Cannot think for themselves to be considerate to others.
Anyways, Food there is affordable. 6,000 yen is more than enough for a day if one knows where to find good food. If wanna compare chicken rice, mostly rice and only a few slices of chicken, then 3 bucks soba is Not much worse. I agree salad and fruits are rare. But that's only in town areas. Go rural supermarkets, u get super value for money salads and fruits.

Somewhere in Kawaguchiko. Just chanced upon a fruit stall randomly at the right price. Got a proper Fuji Apple as well, almost the size of my wife's head.
Did you guys know that japanese eat grapes without the skin? I just plopped the whole thing in my mouth. sooooooo good!
Of course the weather there, 75% of e time in good weather. Summer time is worse than sg!
Weather wise, since I don't like the chances of natural disasters, I'd stay in Sunny Singapore than anywhere else in the world.

disaster n massive death toll made them unite and a stronger country and people power than ever. same goes for taiwan or even china
singapore no disaster, thats why people take it for granted, eat full nothing to do, go sabo people, backstab people, complain and complain for sake of killing time only. sinkie pwn sinkie, u see that everyday. we have no unity at all despite all the pledge n NS n NDP.
Agree with both issues.
Even within the home I stayed in, they want me to seperate the trash... for a foreigner who dunno what items should go which trash... quite confusing.
The food is rather salty but most food are indeed nicer than SG.
with outright racism and privileges to the rich and majority of the country, of course there's no unity, nothing relating to the weather... but then again, this topic is not meant for this part of the forum so take your frustrations elsewhere.
If you want to try muscat grapes for relatively "cheaper" or more value, you can try those dessert shops that offer muscat parfait. They really pack the whole glass with big fat grapes. It would probably cost about the same if you buy them in individual pieces.
