The culture is to keep within you and throw it when you see one. And their country is catered for their locals than foreigners. One have to adapt when visiting, not the other way round.

TS ask about things YOU hate about Japan wor... :s22:
So yes, it's not about whether you can adapt to their culture.

You can find trash bin at convenient stores. They don’t provide trash bin for many reasons, one of which is for processing of recycleable trash, another, is they don’t encourage ppl to eat/drink while walking.

That's another thing, there was once when I ask if I can throw my rubbish, which I bring with me from other places, into their dustbin, they say no. :(

- Fukushima radiation
- Lack of remorse for WWII atrocities
- Fake politeness
- Paranoid xenophobia
- Right-wing PM (Shinzo ****h) who wants to remilitarise Japan (with US encouragement)
- Stuck in ancient irrelevant cultural mindset

ya, some truth about the seats, but there were situation where 2 of us sat in middle of a stranger and the person offer to switch seats.

More thing i do observed on every trip;
1) Locals don't cover their mouth when they cough;
2) they knock into you without apologizing, maybe cos they are in the rush.. LOLz
3) Locals are usually very helpful when approached, but it doesn't mean they know the answer :p. Once I was asking for direction and a local pointed me the direction. In the end, we walked a big loop, only to return to the same place LOL..

There is a big differences between holiday and residing in Japan, to me personally, I prefer to holiday there only.

Don't have anything to hate about a country that I visit for holidays. If I hate something about that country, I won't be going there again anyway, and I won't be visiting its subforum in hwz already.

Certain things mentioned here by others are just slight annoyances for me, which can be easily overcome with some adjustments on my end.

If it is not a big piece of rubbish, you should have just gaijin smashed and throw at their dustbin without asking. If you asked, you are just requesting a negative response.

The person saw me already. Don't want to cause trouble. :(

If one only travels to perfect countries for holidays, there will not be a single country to go for a holiday.

This topic is useful for the matured.

Nowadays it's best not to visit those popular places like kyoto, Osaka or Tokyo. Knn whole places flooded with tourists from Taiwan, tangoland, hk and bolehland

Interesting topic..

Nothing to hate as a tourists except rare discrimination against Chinese, probably due to the flood of China tourists spoiling the market.

But if I were to stay there, I would hate the cost of transportation and variety of food.

Their fast pace of living is scary, almost every part of the Tokyo feels like CBD area during peak hours. Can't imagine how stressful it is to live there.

Perhaps I got used to our own pace of living, when go Europe countries, their pace is super duper slow, yet they still have fairly good economy and sustainable businesses, quite amazing. It just puzzles me why most ppl from countries in asia work more than 8 hours a day but is less productive than ang mohs....
