Thinking of changing mobo

Hi guys, I am currently using asus P8z77-v board, however, facing issues with the mobo on the DIMM slots and contemplating a mobo switch.

I am running i5-3570K with MSI 7870 GPU, Kingston HyperX beast 16 GB (KHX16C9T3K2/16X), and the rest of specs as what I listed in my profile..

Any suggestion? Thinking of a gigabyte board, 200~ budget. GA-Z77X-UD3H versus GA-Z77X-D3H, am not sure what's the difference?

warranty expired? Z77 less than 3 yrs old shld still be covered.

You are better off swapping from distro. It is also possible that they have stocks to do the exchange for you.

Go to CDL trading at commonwealth.

Bring along the mobo and also the receipt. If receipt has been misplaced, the distro will follow the manufacturing dates.

no la, i think ASUS board not that stable.. heard better stuff about gigabyte.. Furthermore, gigabyte RMA is really near my place compared to ASUS RMA @ ubi..

So thinking of doing a swap of brands.. realized that z97 is out, but damn, technology moves too fast. My board and CPU is only 1 year old..

my asus p8p67 didn't give me any problem since I got it back in 2011, had minor issues with asrock boards before though.

Ban leong is the correct place to rma your board.

Im sure they should have ready stock to rma for you a new board.

It is not an upgrade option. Is to replace your faulty board with the same model.

Yeah, dats why its useless to the majority as they are either looking for a basic usage or something similar but with a much lower pricetag and still serve the same purpose.

probably motherboard issue. i tio before the asus 2 slot ram, suddenly 1 died, pc became more sluggish but i din notice it until i tried to run a game and said "you need more than 2gb of ram to run this game"

all company making mobo all the same la... i bought MSI, failed at year 1, RMA, now still working total lifespan 8 yr+
after that experience change to asus, failed at year 2, RMA failed 1 month after warranty ended. suay max.
switch back to msi.

my meaning is that you dont switch brands juz bcos u feel this brand not reliable, imo is wasting money. rather u RMA this current board then continue using until it fail again after warranty end or until u feel the CPU too slow, then upgrade to Z97 or Z107. but not my money so up to u.

from my knowledge this depends.. some ppl experience some ppl dont

i swapped out a hdd on a failed intel mobo to a amd one and the os ran fine
tried the same thing to a failed intel mobo to another model intel mobo, no issues

in the end just call microsoft to complain, they will reset for u
