I wash my hair twice a day using head and shoulders anti-dandruff. Do you recommend using conditioner as well? I am using head and shoulders anti-dandruff scalp care conditioner once a day.
I feel that conditioner is not good for oily scalp, it usually leave a layer of hard-to-wash-away stuff on the hair and scalp, making oily scalpt worse off. If one's hair is already not thick and healthy, no conditioner in the world will help. The 2 effective anti dandruff shampoos are Nizoral and Head and Shoulder. Nizoral is more gentle but less economical.
To add on, this is my personal observation. A lot of people probably get healthier hair if they eat less calories. I personally observe many foreign workers from third world countries who grow up on less calories and are small in body size having a full head of healthy and thick hair. Once you start eating a lot of calories (westernisation of diet), you tend to trigger many anabolic hormones on your body that are detrimental to hair growth cycle and good blood circulation and you end up with unhealthy scalp and result in subsequent thinner hair. Of couse there are other factors involved like the sensitivity of the follicles to androgens.
