haha... that some questions with very long answer. i keep it short.

1) i just started using Avodart nearly a month. in singapore, you need a prescription just like Proscar. in malaysia, you can get from any pharmacy. the cheapest i found is RM190 for 30cap.

2) the cost depend on your usage. i am using 3cap per week so it cost less. reasons i use only 3cap per week is due to saving cost and reduce side effect. if you happen to experience side effect, it will take a very long time for it to go away due to Avodart long half life. i read before some patient DHT level never return to normal even after one year.

3) as you have already mention, Avodart is much stronger than Proscar therefore, the chance of getting side is higher. reducing I 5-alpha reductase might give more side effect as a trace amount is found in the brain. some reported depression with Avodart.
another area of concern is taking Avodart increase testosterone in scalp as less is converted to DHT. testosterone is also one of the possible cause of hair loss although not as potent as DHT. these are also the reason for me to take 3cap per week. the list goes on and remember that i mention that the half life of Avodart is long, so it might be something to think about before you start.

4) 0.5mg every 5days work about as well as 5mg of finasteride daily. so it better to start with really low dose before deciding whether to you want to go on with it or up the dosage.

just get proscar and cut it up. they are the same thing. the only thing safe, is saving money.

you can get rogaine foam from Ebay. i got it for about slightly less than $27 per month. if you order more, you can save more on the shipping.

other than the avodart that u take 3 times a wk, i noticed that ur current regimen includes oral spiro, which i dun dare to try yet... haha
so is oral spiro what u take on the remaining 4 days? or u totally don't take any oral pills on the 4 days?

will u recommend mixing avodart and proscar together in a weekly regimen? as in M_W_F avodart then T_T_S_S proscar..

for oral spiro, i just play around with it. i used to take 50mg daily and experience side effect. basically i have very painful nipple and can feel a slightly lump therefore i drop it to low dosage. i don't know does 50mg daily really help with hairloss, but it really does clear up my acne problem. my facial skin became very dry during that time. after stopping, all hell broke loose... acne problem is back...

25mg seem to be a good balance for side effect and clearing up my acne. for now, i just take it when i feel like. bascially 4-6days per week. not only on my off day from Avodart. Avodart stay in your system for a long time, so it doesn't matter if you don't take anything inbetween. even finasteride, some doctor suggest to take it every other day.

i won't recommend mixing Avodart and Proscar as simply you are wasting your money. Avodart is so strong that it leave nothing for Proscar to work on. unless you are taking Avodart twice per week, maybe you can take 1mg of Proscar inbetween. even that, i doubt proscar will do anything.

no problem at all. infact that a good question.

when i was 14 or 15year old, one of my teacher commented that i will become bald in the later part of my life. at such age if you show sign of balding mean you have very "strong hairloss". around 17years old, my ex-gf already commenting that i am balding. seriously, that not something anyone will want to go through.

so i started treatment at the age of 22years old. by then, i have quite a number of friends already commented that i am losing hair. comment like "your front are getting thin", "you have a bald spot at your back" etc is getting common. looking at before and after photo and the way i can style my hair is changes greatly as the years goes by.

back to your question, have i make any progress? for the last few years, my hair loss continue, but at a much more slower rate. do i consider it a progress? certainly a big yes. alot of people have unrealistic expectation of hair loss treamtment. if you can slow down your hairloss, you should be happy. if you can maintain, you are so lucky. if you have regrow, you are blessed.

consider that i bald at such a young age, if i can give myself a few more years, i will consider i have make pretty good progress. so in the mean time, hopefully someone could come up with something close to a cure. keeping your hope high is as important as taking your pills. unless you can learn to accept your hair loss.

just follow the expire date. should not be any problem.

no, you can't get folligen in malaysia. order it online.

propercia sold in mypharmacy malaysia cost 194 rm but they will ask you to be member then give u 15% immediately so it cos about 164rm .. .actually other shop is malaysai also sell about 165+ for 28 tablet

u can try to buy from overseas in united states..but shipping etc is troublesome and theres a worry for the package not passing customs. if ur interested im selling them..i dont wanna post more info here in the thread just in case its against forum rules ya!
