3.70 per tab at guardian. need precription from GP. if you take 6 pieces per week, it can lasts 2 months for 10 tabs, which is 37 bucks... as compared to that of a 90buck propecia for a month..

if it is the same effect, you save almost 60%...

and i split it to 5 pieces.

Hi Astro

Need to check with you how you managed to split the Proscar tablet into 5 equal parts.

Could you share with us some photographs of the pill splitter and its brand name?

What is the procedure of splitting the proscar into 5 pieces?

dunno the get the nick wrong or not, but:

1. somewhere amogst this thread, there's a pic to teach you how to split them. lazy to find for you. :s34:

2. no and no (i can't remember, not at home now). any pill cutter will work. don't need specifically a brand. they work just the same, to cut pills. just make sure it's at the very base of the blade, where the blade touches the board first, so the pill doesn't slide out. you'll know what i mean when you try. i wasted 1/5 of the pill and got it right. not that tough. just ask anyone in guardian / watson's where you can get a pill cutter or tablet cutter.

3. see point 1.

My Regime

Thanks to this thread, I am beginning my own set of regime and i would like some of the guys here to review if it is okay.

Generic Proscar - I have just received a Generic brand of Proscar called Fincar made by an indian company called Cipla. Oh well, I just bought it without researching too much and it seems pretty okay as researched from other sites.

Anyone have info if Finscar work just as well as proscar or any side effects?

Generic Minoxidil - I ordered the brand called Member's Mark. Just started it.

Similarly Anyone have info if Member's Mark work just as well as the original mino. or any side effects?

----------------------------------------------------

Awaiting for Iso's Laser comb at the same time. Hehe

These 3 treatment options are the best that I will do. Please comment. Cheers~

Anybody read Wan Bao 2 days back? It's about a herbal hair treatment shop called Bee Choo in Chinatown. Their hair growth treatment is so effective that her customers has expanded to over 10 000+.
Now another branch has opened in AMK Hub.

Anybody went to this shop b4? I am tempting to give it a try.

By the way, how's the laser comb treatment so far?

Actually I bought this laser comb over 1 yr ++ le. It doesn't really work for me

Bald Hair Style Option 1:

Short, clean cut. If you leave your hair long in the back or on the sides in the hopes that a comb-over will solve your problem, think again. It only draws more attention to the fact that you are balding. So why not go for a short, clean cut? With this hair style, you can use different products in your hair, such as muds and waxes, to create different styles any day of the week.

Bald Hair Style Option 2:

Grow facial hair. By growing a beard, goatee, or moustache, it will take attention away from your head and people will focus on your new ¡°accessory¡±.

Bald Hair Style Option 3:

Color your hair. It's not just women anymore! The truth is by lightening your natural color, it will reduce the contrast between the hair and the scalp which in turn makes your thinning hair much less noticeable.

Bald Hair Style Option 4:

Shave it off! Vin Diesel does it, so does Michael Chicklis, as does Hector Elizondo. If you don't think using waxes or coloring your hair is you, then simply go bald. This way, everyone will think that you have chosen to have no hair and women find it attractive!

Some men would rather restore their hair loss instead of choosing one of the above mentioned bald hair styles. There are a number of shampoos and creams on the market for hair loss or you can seek out the help of a medical professional and get hair transplants.

Don't feel bad if you're beginning to lose your hair. Although there are ways to slow down or prevent the process of hair loss, there are also great hairstyles for those of you who have a receding hairline. It may be tempting to camouflage your hair loss with a "comb over," as demonstrated by New York mayor Rudy Giuliani, but this is not the ideal style. The best way to camouflage the fact that you are experiencing hair loss is to have your hair shaved and wear it as short as possible.
Actors such as Bruce Willis show us that this is possible, while singer Moby also looks great with no hair at all. This just makes it look as if you intended to wear your hair extremely short, rather than compensating for your receding hairline. This also looks a lot better than trying to hide your hair loss with a hairpiece or toupee.

anymore suggestion?

proscar overseas

Hi guys - first post here.

I just got back from Bangkok, Thailand.

You can get Proscar or Procepia from pharmacies without a prescription. You just ask for it at the counter and then bargain the price (at those no name pharmacies in the city)

I got a pack of 30 tabs of Proscar (5mg) for THB 1,500 which is about SGD 70-.

If you work it out you get 150 mg (150 days if divide into 5) for SGD 70 = 0.47 per day or SGD 15 per month.

If you don't have time in the city (cos of business or whatever) there's a pharmacy at the airport (next to food court) which is Watsons or Boots I think and the cost is THB 2,050 per 30 tabs (SGD 95) or about SGD 3/tab.

Saw Procepia was about THB 1200-1300 in the city pharmacy (with bargaining) and THB 1650 at the airport. Seems about SGD 2 per pill or 2/3 the cost in SIN.

So if you know someone whose going to Thailand and doesn't mind buying this kind of stuff for you, you can save a whack of cash.

I'm only about to start on it but haven't got myself a pill cutter yet. Getting it into 5 seems kinda tricky....4 seems easier - any tips guys ???

just posting my findings about proscar:

1. when u chop pill to 5 pieces, the contents will drop off a little. looking how we cannot exactly cut 5 equal parts, it is a little tricky in making it work for that 1mg per day. Therefore, I am going to cut it into 4 pieces to compensate for that tiny little bit of powder that is dropping off every now and then, so 1.2mg per day is something that the body can still tolerate.

2. for those that are asking how to cut it into 5 pieces, it's found in one of the posts here... cannot remember where but there's a picture on it.

3. for those that mix it in water and drink 5 seperate portions:
a. The quality and chemical degrades by the day. Don't see how it works.
b. The water will become less and less useful as the days go by. e.g. you put a pail of dettol water and leve it for half a day, the smell changes... because the chemical interacts with the water and watever there is in the air.
c. unless someone can tell me that it is helping, i won't suggest this...

4. The Thailand lobang. It is very much cheaper.. in fact, propecia can get half price there if you are good with your mouth and buy more than 1 box. having said that, we have to look at the expiry date on the pills. :)

once again, just my thoughts. :)

Hi all, jus to add on... so far the main products recommended are:

Propecia (or proscar)
Minoxidil

and recently the laser comb

Have anyone tried other treatment like Revivogen and Tricomin

Based on the products reviews, these seem to be pretty effective & promising treatments too

Tricomin

Tricomin is a therapy spray that is applied topically. It is part of a suite of products that include a shampoo, conditioner, and conditioning shampoo Tricomin made it into our list of clinically efficacious products because it is one of the few products to have actually stimulated growth in intensive partial FDA trials. In Phase II clinical studies, it had very positive results on some of the 36 men who applied the treatment topically twice a day for 24 weeks. It uses a technology known as the "Copper Peptide Technology" to do this.

Revivigen

Potentially one of the most effective unproven products our users have given us feedback on. While this is the case, the proven treatments on the market including Propecia, Minoxidil, and Tricomin should be considered first.
A topically applied DHT inhibitor that contains more scientifically backed ingredients for inhibiting DHT than you can shake a stick at. A typical ValuePak comes with three small scalp therapy bottles and a single Shampoo bottle. The Scalp therapy contains the active ingredients, while the shampoo, according to our users, just does a darn good job of making your hair look thick.

The makers set out to create a solution that contains as many known DHT inhibiting chemicals as possible into one solution. Since no significant amount is absorbed into the bloodstream, there are no side effects, as may be seen with Propecia use.
