Ceiling mold. The ceiling started to get those black dots this year after I turned off the aircon and just used the fan, i.e. after room is cool, fan only with door open.

Use this solution then paint over after 24 hours. Want to use bleach also can if you have.

Try to open the window when you are not at home. My brother place also have black mold on ceiling because he never open the window and the neighbour above always on the aircon. After he open the window no more. no need to open window big big, just 5-10cm opening help a lot.

Your thirsty hippo solution even spam 20 pieces won't help with your mold problem, dare to chop on this.

i figure u had a ensuite which u bathe in and the moisture all got trapped
Get a fan for yr toilet, or open up the window to dispel all the moisture during/after bathe

this hippo is not useful, only for enclosed spaces like shoe cabinet which i use

google search ..... 1 cubic meter 90% RH 30 degree celcius is 27 gram of water in the air
lets say reduce to 50% RH ....... about 12 gram of water to remove
the plastic container is about 500ml at max .... lets assume the chemical beads don't take up volume and fully turn into liquid
500/12 = 41 cubic meter of air .... divide by 2.8m ceiling height = 14.6 cubic meter floor space
that is roughly 3.8m x 3.8m size room

1 hippo (given unlimited time) can dry a room the size of 3.8m x 3.8m with perfectly sealed window and door no gap

the moment you open door and exchange fresh air in ...... that hippo is finished open door once $2 fly away ........... if you use machine then maybe cheaper 20-60 cents electricity

u shld repaint yr ceiling with primer/sealant ? then paint liao.
those molds are bad for body....

after that then buy dehumidifer

Already painted the ceiling with some kind of anti mold paint just months before the mold appeared.

May want to consider ceiling fan.
Also consider Sharp Plasmacluster as it produces ions that can "kill" molds.

Also, circulate air during the day time to reduce the humidity.
If you have attached bathroom, consider to have an air extractor.

Where do you put these disposable dehumidifiers in aircon rooms? Near the door? Under the aircon? On top of the shelf?

If it is not used in an enclosed or almost airtight space, it's like pouring money into the drain.. it does not even last 3 months in our climate like what it says on the packaging.

I had the same issue previously, the end solution is to do a ceiling wipe down and repaint it with anti-mould paint. Before the repaint, I tried using these small dehumidifier and there's no use at all.

I always find it funny ppl think it can work.

It works somewhat, but only in small enclosures and it fills up fast before needing a new pack; tested before with a digital hygrometer with bluetooth function and humidity definitely went down quite a bit as long as don't open and close often.

Imo, better to get a proper dehumidifier or just on the aircon.
