That is very true for some sectors so bad luck if you're in those sectors. The worse thing is manpower supply for those sectors which are badly affected (low wages) are still flooded with extra manpower.

Friday's edition of Shin Min newspaper reported that Mediacorp pays Liang Tian(梁田), an old actor with 30 years experience, $1000 monthly! Before negotiation, the original contract was $750! Liang Tian says he is not going to recontract if mediacorp is reducing his salary again when his contract ends in April next year.

Another experienced actor(middle aged), Yan Bing Liang(严炳量), says his new contract is $1700 salary which is lower than a coffeeshop boy(reportedly $1800), without room for negotiation! Bing Liang is ending employment with Mediacorp to work as full-time property agent! He has been working as part-time property agent for quite some time and that job fetches him $2000 monthly. Working full-time, he is confident that he can easily earn $5000.

This has been this way for many donkey years, we singaporean are like prostitutes to this corp or non-corp, they will lowball us and exploit govt dumb policy. I foresee, I have to prepare my kids in future to be capable working overseas.
