This or Windows 7?

Hey guys, I'm currently in a dilemma between choosing either this, or Windows 7 for my new rig. I'm looking for these 3 components:

1)User-friendliness. (My parents who are fairly new with PCs will be using it);
2)Performance. (Which is better for gaming in general?)
3)Functionality (Does 8 have something that it does better than 7?)

Any advice?

Edit: I read from somewhere that MS is discontinuing support from 7 in 2015. Is that true?

1. User friendliness
- if you are from the XP era, most likely will stick to W7
- if you are starting new, pls go straight to W8 and free upgrade to W8.1

2. Performance in Gaming
- sorry I don't game but looks to me no difference.

3. Functionality
The design for W8 is more visual and more towards for touch screen or tablet interface. And because of that , it is also more resource intensive.

For those w/o a touch screen monitor, there is a pen which can act like a stylus to let you scroll up down, left right. But of course you must calibate it to the 4 corners of your monitor in order to work properly. Saw it at corbell service centre at AMK industrial park. You can go there to see the demo.

For W7, it is more for laptop or desktop interface. More for the office worker than home.

Yes W7 EOL Jan-2015. You need to goolge for W7 roadmap, it will direct you there.

Go for Windows 7.

As for performance in gaming, it depends on your RAM(?) and your graphic card
