It's a reasonable price for what you're getting la. The one eyesore to me is 80+ bronze psu. Hope you're not gonna run it 24/7 cos then you'll be losing much electricity to waste heat.

For your budget I would have chosen to skip the hdd and get a 256gb ssd from them as boot drive and just get a 1-2tb SSD from amazon. Apparently WD get from amazon thru official seller the warranty the sg service centre will uphold.

PSU afaik its best to get abit higher Watts cos warranty can last 7-10yrs but I'm not sure how AS's wwarranty works, probably would have chosen a gold certified 750w personally.

But that's just what I would have chosen if I was in your shoes la I'm sure you know roughly how much storage you need.


If you decide you need more fans I'll probably get some artic p12 pwm (cheap) or some btr noctua fans from amazon.

Just to put it out there I'm a pc noob and if anyone corrects what I said above you should probably listen to them over me and I'm only speaking in the capacity of what I would have done in your shoes rather than suggesting what you should do.

I will actually go for TS config of 512GB/1TB HDD over 256GB/1TB SSD. That 1TB might be just for storage purpose so SSD is not really needed.

To be fair, bronze rating means it achieved at least 85% efficiency at 100% load while gold means it have to achieve at least 89% efficiency at 100% load. You could make the argument that gold rated PSU efficiency don't just stop at 89% but that could be the same for the bronze rated option. I would say the quality of the power supply that aftershock provides is actually much more important than 4% efficiency as they really love to use cheap & relatively unknown PSUs for majority of their builds (unless you pay extra for higher end). My personal experience with AS, a cheap EVGA BV died after reaching 2 years mark.

This. Unless it's a iCute 650W psu, you shouldn't be bothered by it too much. FSP is a very good brand.

Ehh FSP does make good products but Aftershock websites states that the default FSP PSU they use is H3-650 AKA FSP HYPER 80+ PRO which the official website doesn't list Over Temperature Protection (Pretty important) or Undervoltage protection (not that important) while having a cheap sleeve bearing fan. It's probably on par to the EVGA BV that I had dealt with and I really doubt it's ability to properly deliver stable power over longer periods of time.

Gigabyte A520M DS3H Wifi Motherboard <- bad mobo for this CPU. All you're getting then is a 8-core CPU with no PBO. PBO is amazing for unlocked processors. If you want this Mobo with an 8-core CPU, I'd rather get the 4750G which is locked anyway and has onboard Radeon Vega graphics.

2635 <- for $200 over the second option, I'd rather get this. The CPU itself already worth the extra $200, mobo also better, SSD better. GPU wise I'm not sure but my impression is GB Eagle OC is similar quality to Zotac Twin Edge OC

Overall again I don't like the bronze PSU lol. But if you're not running it for extended hours, I guess it's fine. 650W will do fine for 3070 but won't give much room for upgrading the GPU in the future. This will probably a build that ends in the same config as it begins.
