Would like to check whether anyone has experience with Hafele DL7600 (for door) & GL5600 (for gate)? Is it a reliable model? I personally prefer the lever type as I find the sound generated by push pull type is much louder.

Any digital locks to recommend for doors?

Preferably one which is around the $500 range?

The preferred price of $500 that you have indicated is in the many borders of (A) small add on rim type or small tubular deadbolt, and (B) the replacement larger mortise type and no frills, perhaps buy your own overseas and install without local warranty.

So you get either an average and above of the former or the average or below of the latter.

Since there are no requirements other than a preferred price range, I would lean towards a better build lock of (A) or a no frills but of decent build of (B). Or leave it to a chance recommendation of someone and let it be.

PS.It is good to have at least two requirements as difficult as it may seem to be.

Yes it will, but you have to be in Bluetooth range of the lock. And even with the gateway, to control the lock you need to be in the same range, as the gateway only gives you notifications of the lock (e.g. when someone unlocks it, when it remains unlocked for too long, etc.)

ic, in that case i will need to get the gateway since i felt that there is a need be get notified when someone unlock it or it remain unlocked for a period of time.

hi, looking at philips & hafele digital lock. which one should i go for?
They are both house appliances brands and not original lock manufacturers. I am not sure what the values are for the brands other than you can recognize one more than the other. I am sure I missed the question (ie requirements preferably weighted) but hopefully I provided a perspective (at the brand level) . If not, just ignore this post.

PS. I prefer original lock manufacturers where possible, and I like my house digital lock to address some requirements be it budget or features (prioritized)

For me, modes of access (card, finger, key [manual], WiFi etc) matters. As well as what if the lock runs out of battery accidentally how do I recover to get entry?

Lastly also is the coverage and support, mine has 5 years, and they have a mobile van which should take about 1-2 hours to reach to resolve any issues. I can sit at coffeeshop relax while they slowly arrive, but my parents stuck outside the gate... no fun.

Can consider the august smart lock. You’ll need to buy the optional keypad to use it with a pin. Otherwise I’m quite sure you can grant temporary access on their app.

Might be asking a silly question here. .
But wondering what happens when a digital locks break down? Possible to just replace it with another brand? ( are all digital locks installation template similar? )

Aside from that , I'm assuming that even if the digital locks breaks the physical key will allow for unlocking as long as the locking mechanism is not broken right?

It is a question where the answer may not matter eventually. It would be like asking if your instant water heater breaks down, is it possible to replace it with another brand? Possibly (yes and no) ... but so many things would have changed by then that the question may have lost it's initial relevance. In short, just get it and let nature take it's path. But to answer your question, it is yes (mostly). But don't let that stop you from enjoying a hot bath.

Aside from that , I'm assuming that even if the digital locks breaks the physical key will allow for unlocking as long as the locking mechanism is not broken right?

Yes, you said it well. However, one might be over optimistic of the latter. There is a reason why locksmith stickers are pasted all over the place even in the early days of no digital locks.
