Hi rolex expert.

Im planning to get a datejust 36 as i have hit a small milestone!

Can i check for the 3 models, will it be readily available if I were to visit the AD? Am I required to "build a relationship" with the AD? Or the best chance is to go grey market and get it? (Also roughly whats the price in grey market?)

Timeline is around June2022

Thanks!

All 3 that you’ve selected are relatively hot models, need to have profile to buy. Nowadays even datejusts are getting difficult to get. If you just want the one piece and not build profile, suggest you buy grey market while the premium is not big now, the prices will only go up next year.

Thanks all for the replies, didn't knew the datejust will be OOS like the sports model.

Will probably go for grey market since I will be getting one piece.

Any recommendations for grey market? I chance upon Chuanwatch, KB Watch, Brighttime, Timestory but alot does not carry Datejust 36 ones.

Feel free to take a walk and purchase with the dealer you feel most comfortable with, if they don't have it in stock they can source it for you and advise what price roughly they can get it for.

Haiz. My wife love a pepsi.

Am on wait for the rootbeer and ad is confident i can have it next. Have purchase history leow with 1 sports model lately as well thus things r smoother.

But with wife wanting a pepsi which is hot. Too hot for my ad to sell me anytime.

I am thinking any ad would do a bundle of 2 or 3 watches with a pepsi. Hee. Maybe a pepsi. And a 2t dj and a iwc or 30k 35k total purchase?

Cheers

Stick to current Ad. It’s your best bet imo for the Pepsi

Oh.. sounds like emperor or kkh?
a multi brand ad would be more beneficial and holistic for a proper collection..all the best!

interesting.. almost every Rolex shop I see have sports watches.

but all not for sale. say based on history with them.

they choose who they sell to.

then why bother .. this kind of business is not "fair" trade right ? discrimination and bias ..

so by right every restaurant I can choose not to pay for service charge as well.

firstly nothing in this world has to be fair.

secondly if you're an AD, would you sell the sports watch to a customer who supports you with the less popular models, or would you sell to someone who only wants the popular ones and won't support you on other watches? Moreover, that someone is likely to sell it on carousell at a premium immediately.

Also, if you didn't know, if the AD gets caught by Rolex having their watches on the grey market, they can lose their dealership.

I know. so why bother displaying?

it means also any business has the right to do the same. I want to give my usual customers special VIP , no need to queue or always let them in first.

fair right ?

Nike should reserve all the special shoes for their "loyal" customers ?

you run a business , not some shady underground business leh.

This I agree. If really want preferential treatment, it should be from Rolex and that I have nothing to say. Preferential treatment should not be from AD leveraging on the popularity of Rolex. Last time I heard Rolls Royce only sells their cars to someone of certain status, not sure if this is true though.

Two things:
1. Demand and supply
2. Rolex is simply a luxury good and not a necessity/controlled good by any conceivable measure

for these reasons, only market forces and Rolex own rules matter.
