Yeah damenienic.
Buy what you like.. theres tons of diff watches out there.
Enjoy what u buy and what u want.

That pp looks good actually. I can see why theres polarising opinions as its a diff design from the so called hot watches. Hyped watches i meant.

I also join the hype earlier but tbh i end up not going to wan that sub black or kermit i always thought kermit is the grail rolex i need.

I also thought the pp naultis is one of my grill for pp. But my taste changed.

But to each of its own. Buy what u like. Enjoy the journey
Hey thanks bro. Yes I agree, I think life is always about getting things or doing things that you really enjoy. The PP designs invites very polarising views indeed. I know a guy who has a mix of 20 over pieces of full gold Daydate, Daytona and older vintage Submariners. He always thrashes PP and tells me they look like watches bought from pasar malam, much like what one of us just said. Then I also know of other friends who likes designs on complicated watches such as those from PP and Lange.

Taste do change from time to time. 7-8 years ago when I just started looking at luxury watches, half gold and full gold Rolex watches really is a turn off for me. Fast forward, about 4-5 years ago, I find myself able to accept such watches a lot more. I may even want to ask for the Daydate in green dial and yellow gold next time. Haha 😂

Yes, most importantly is to enjoy the “journey”. I find myself beaming with excitement each time I go down to get the watch and then anticipating what I could get next. The feeling is amazing.

Would pp 5226g. Calatrava in 40mm be a realistic first pp?
It is realistic. Go for it.
in fact it could be what I could get as first PP as well but I decided to go straight for a Complication first, as that allows faster access to Aquanaut.
it is beautiful, I saw the exhibition piece at the boutique last sat. 👍

After reading this article, the couple actually managed to escape sg, even when their passport have been impounded by spf? How’s that possible really? In this modern year 2022, really quite hard to fathom anyone could successfully flee to neighbouring country by speedboat, and escape the water radar of our Police Coast Guard.

And even if they’re caught in the days/months to come, the article says those convicted of cheating can be jailed up to 10yrs. 10yrs only? To scam a total of S$32M, go in sit 10yrs. Tradenation & tradeluxury, I really take my hats off you guys for successfully pulling off the greatest amount of scam in the history of Singapore, to-date.

I’m dumb founded too as to how they manage to escape when their passports are impounded. Unless the police coast guard are sleeping on their jobs. Imagine also how they going to lead their lives in a foreign country as a stateless person.

once you are able to cross over to malaysia side, it is easy to enter thailand via the borders of betong or sadao illegally once they are there it is almost as good as gg to find them...

not really surprise they can make the escape as many have done successsfully before (one eye dragon, mas selamat, ex city harvest leader, etc... so why you all seems very surprise? they are rich, throw 1mil out, many ppl willing to risk it for them

Ya it’s true, we shouldn’t be so surprised. Tan Chor Jin & Mas Selamat era is very long ago liao. So they managed to escape it’s not surprising. I just re-read the CHC leader who tried to escape but was unsuccessful, this one happened in Dec 2018. Less than a min by speedboat can cross over to Msian territory waters liao. Amazing. Too bad he was intercepted by PCG before making it across.

Maybe TN owners pay more to the speedboat driver.

CHC leader escape route

Read this above article, only takes less than a min to reach ‘point B’. This loophole should have been doubly taken note of by PCG in year 2022, no? That’s why I’m surprised

if u ask me, PP is purely to show your class

aquanaut and nautilus are their sports line and it's not worth it imo (especially at the current prices)
want sports, just go rolex or AP
want classy and dressy, then PP or VC

Haha, but how to use PP to show class when by and large people don't really follow this brand that much? PP is not a crowd favorite and attracts following only from fans who like what the brand stood for and its artistry in movement and the fine craftsmanship.
About Aquanaut and Nautilus: I was a huge fan of Aquanaut but not so much the Nautilus. To me I would probably stop at Aquanaut and not going all out for the Nautilus. I agree they are overrated and the secondary market prices is damn ridiculous. Anyway, when Thierry Stern was interviewed not too long ago, he showed some discomfort at the obsession public has for their two sports model Aquanaut and in particular the Nautilus. He wanted PP to be known not merely for these two sports models. Hence he took the decision to discontinue the 5711.
About sports watches, yeah I'm still going for Rolex. Will never drop the interest. AP I did have interest but I never have access to it so far and I will stick to Rolex and PP for time being until maybe sometime later? I dunno when although a friend who is regular at AP MBS offered to make a referral.
Ah VC is beautiful too and a brand which is gaining popularity in recent times.

I get what people are saying about previous cases escaping. But after the lessons learnt, I would be surprised if they still showed the same lapses that allowed these criminals to escape so easily. Don't they step up surveillance system to avoid repeating the same lapses? As it shows, CHC was one case that failed to make the getaway. It is quite bad that so many police reports made, they manage to impound the couple passports and still allow them to escape right under their noses. Either pure incompetency or sheer complacency.

That’s why it’s a very serious case already. Need Interpol red notice to arrest the couple. Where can they go, how long can they hide? They must have many connections in Msia, Thailand in order to provide lodging for them. Else, how to check in to hotel w/o passport?

To think that they actually have the guts to do such a daring feat of escaping sg without passport. Really unthinkable. Can sleep peacefully every night meh? On the run like this? Don’t say S$32M is a lot of money ah. Now you’re wanted by Interpol. Everywhere you go, your so called connections friends in other countries sure jerk up their “asking price” of harbouring you liao. They know you’re rich and have no where to go mah. You wanna stay at my house? Can! Per night $50k. Want steak? Can! Per piece $5k. Don’t wanna pay, I tua you to Interpol police loh.

The whole of SG watch enthusiasts are watching this piece of news very closely already. Really rocking and breaking news. For the victims, they’re even more anxious on the capturing of the Tradenation couple.

This news is even more 轰动 than the Jerry Ee news. The Cortina supervisor who stole 300 over luxury watches worth more than S$7M+ during Xmas in yr 2008. Within 3 mths in March 2009, also got caught/surrendered.

Agree, I actually wonder what went through their minds when they try to pull this off. 32m is a lot of money no doubt. But life as a fugitive on the run as a stateless person is unimaginable. You have to sleep in fear, look over your shoulder not a few months, nor a year. It is until rest of your life to avoid being caught.

Jerry Ee turned himself in and return much of the watches he stole to plead for lighter sentence. He decided to turn himself in reportedly on the advice of a friend. The story is that he missed his daughter much and couldn’t imagine not being able to see her for rest of his life as a fugitive on the run

abit off topic, but how does the tradenation couple move $32M out of SG without red flags? All the TTs are recorded if our gov wanted can get overseas bank to stop withdrawals since all banks nowadays have daily cash withdrawal limit right? If converted to crypto, the exchnages themselves have deposit limits, so seems like they escaped with bags of cash?? Should be easy to track down the $ nowadays n limit them financially at least

what amazed me about this episode are the many young people who have 00000s to spare to buy several watches (rolexes - to keep on topic) to flip. given their success in having the 00000s before flipping, they should probably have stuck to that instead.

Maybe they bought watches and shipped them overseas since they did run a watch business
or just buy crypto currency put it into a wallet and can cross borders easily…
