There is only 1 thing which they can do to stop this which is to up the production like other brands but it’ll clash with their objective of being a luxury brand 🤣

I hope they can up the production. They clearly know only popular SS model sells but they are not a company who go for profit, they are actually a charity/foundation if I'm not wrong. So not very driven by profits

Some watches are longer than 2 years now of waiting. Same as Patek. :(

“Charity” for tax evading purposes more like it.

I think it’s naive to believe they’re not in it for the money.

Heck even the Explorer 2 POLARRR used to be a dog. Only changed once the steel sports craze hit.

The current Airking looks too cluttered with all the numbers on the dial and costs more than the Explorer 1. Strange release by Rolex.

explorer 2 is under-rated. it's a very nice watch but non WIS doesn't know. only sub sub sub.

Can I check with the experts here -- when Rolex changes a model from WG to steel, there is usually some dial/bracelet differences to distinguish the two, right?

But what about the 326934 (SkyD in Steel/WG bezel) and 326939BKAO (full WG)?

Steel case:

m326934-0005.pg

WG case:

8165563b_xxl.jg

https://www.chrono24.sg/rolex/sky-dweller-black-dial-18k-white-old-oyster-bracelet-automa--id8119188.htm

It's confused me so much when I was in Santa Monica a few months back, when I mistook the WG version with the steel.

the WG got discon, taken over by the steel.

last time WG all these, uses Roman numerals.

Yup, most "charities" don't pay or pay very little taxes

Plus they aren't subject to the same kind of scrutiny as a normal listed company :s13:

The brand stigma is part of the reason why I hesistated to buy and was considering the Zenith Defy blue dial for a while.

Quite irrelevant as most people won’t be interested in Datejusts. Buying a Rolex for the sake of having a Rolex is exactly why models like Explorer 2 have ridiculous pricing. Can’t get Daytona/Pepsi/Batman..., ah well how about an Explorer then?

When buying something like a luxury watch, if I can’t afford to pay, I’d simply look elsewhere. Got plenty of people willing to take my money. If die die want, then just die die pay. Or slowly wait until pigs start flying.

Agreed, buying a luxury watch at retail should not have to be such a painful experience, which includes sucking up to ADs and purchasing multiple shitters before they allocate you something decent. Fortunately all of the other watches on my to-get list can easily be found in shops.
