Whats the max discount u can get at THG for gmt master 2? How much is the retail price without discount anyway

Went to 2 thg outlets recently, both did not display batman. batman retail price is 13400. One tell me no discount, batman no stock need order. One tell me actually is have current stock if I want. He can give me at least 13k. If got firm interest then he fight for more discount.

Dubai has stuff like Batman where is,usually not even displayed in some parts of Europe.

Spend few thousands traveling to Dubai for a cheaper Rolex?! Definitely not getting any savings at all. Don't even know will kana gst charges when back in sg custom or not... Just my 2 cents thought.

Max discount depends on how VIP u are. How VIP u are depends on how many watches u buy from same sales exec. Can be as much as 10%.

People don't just go there just to buy watches. or any where else. Usually on vacation just nice then buy something you like. As for GST.. no one knows. hahaha

I'm wondering since everything can be sourced and swapped out, wouldn't it then make the watch seem 'un-original'? My initial understanding of a true vintage piece is a watch that was made decades ago and stayed 100% unchanged in terms of parts wise, and that's why it commands the high price.
However it seems like the only thing tagged along to the paperwork is the watch case (serial numbers etched on it).

Reason I'm asking is because I plan to purchase more vintage pieces but they're not exactly cheap especially when retailers advertise them as being from the Year 194x or 195x etc. How would I know for sure its from that age since only the case seems to be the one with serials to trace back to?

That's the beauty and devil of vintage Rolex.. read up, join interest groups, pay "school fees" and you will eventually get there.

Unfortunately I don't have deep enough pockets to embark on vintage Rolex journey. Also cannot handle the fear and disappointment of getting Franken watch.

Anyone can point me in the correct direction where to buy the basic model rolex if I were to get from local grey dealer, ref 114300. Thanks. Would grey dealer be much cheaper than getting from the AD?

I belive local AD offer up to 15% for it. Considered That model before getting my iwc

I'd say, just buy one and wear it. Unless its something really necessary, I feel that changing parts unnecessarily devalues your rolex. If it's stuff like lume, I will personally leave it as it is. Of course with the popular models, they can get off with stuff like incorrect bracelet for the year of the watch etc, because there's demand for such models. Unfortunately, for less popular models like the 1601, I personally feel that it will put buyers off if you choose to change dials etc.

Yes there is. Check the serial number. There's a list on which year it's made based on that.
Replacement stuff from rolex themselves doesn't affect authenticity. Except for vintage pieces, most collectors or buyers will pay top dollar for unpolished, untouched pieces (servicing the movement is fine).

As you polish or replace the dial, hands and crystal, value drop drastically.

Happens to all vintage pieces. Not just rolex.

Just beware and learn how to see if it's being replaced if the asking price is high. It nothing is being changed then it's OK.

No shop will let you verify before deal. We will issue receipt stating 100% authentic if not full refund, and you can verify at your own time own expense. To my knowledge it is still $107, but I don't need to verify, so I don't really know the price.
