For $17k, will you spend on GMT master ll Batman or sea dweller 43?

You can consider this as well. When Rolex updates the base submariner 116610, which is due pretty soon, chances are very high that they will not update the Hulk to a new green sub equivalent.

i will spend it on the sd43.

SD43 is not a model that is in high demand, btw. Even when the market was boiling over in madness, the SD has never really been highly desired. That is something to consider as well. Of course, end of the day, buy what you like.

same.

special piece

Special? Cos it has a cyclops? Or because it is single red, in a lame attempt to capitalize on the desirability of the vintage single red sub/seadweller? Or because it's 50th anniversary model?:s13:

I notice you have a fetish for anniversary models: AP ROC, Blancpain FF, now SD43 :s13:

I am thinking of getting the yatch Master 40 as grey sets are priced very close to retail.

Blue or Rodium ? Any opinions ?

Cheers

Yeah tough choice indeed. My initial pick was blue, but after looking at rhodium, it seems to blend in better with the bezel. The blue dial by itself is attractive.

IMHO, the rhodium dial would be easier to wear on daily basis. Blue, to me, may be a little casual or more like a weekend wear.
