I help my friend sold his patek to him.
when i go meet him at patek svc centre. the staff greeted him by first name basis and we were given a vip room to talk. they help him to resized and check the watch movement against the cert for free.
so i asked him, why buy premium when you're a vvip. he told me the local patek AD pissed him off. he buy watches from them in the 90s and early 2000s. that time no such thing as record sales for individual until recently. so basically, whatever he spend during the days are not recorded. he told me he have gotten a few perp cal patek from the ADs back in the day
today, he wants to buy stuff, even the manager of the AD know him also no use. when wanna submit his name to higher mgmt, they will question, no purchase history, cannot, who is this guy etc etc.
he wanted to get a 5711 to wear for fun, AD told him to buy a 120k perp cal then can discuss. not say on the spot get. must wait. he dulan already.
how to know this guy no joke, we had a deal at 9pm and meet next morning 10am. he pass me cash in thousands notes. i say u managed to draw? he say no, had it at home.
so nowadays AD is pretty fked up.
